Finally! A Raise!!
We just got word that the legislature approved step raises and a Cost of Living Adjustment for everyone for the coming fiscal year. That's great news considering I haven't gotten a step in over two years and only one in the last four, and no COLAs at all in the last three. The economy's more or less passing me by at this moment (because municipal employees just miss that. It's part of the gig). It's nice to see that we're straightening ourselves our, fiscally, to the point where we can get caught up just a little bit.
Then again, the state is about to pass a "Living Wage" law, which is going to put me farther in the hole, so it's all more or less relative.
Either way, it's about 50 more bucks every couple of weeks, and I can definitely use it.
