    Current mood: tired
Current music:Moony trying not to cry again in the kitchen

    Holy Shyte
Well, just like my dear cousin Tonks, I too have not updated because I was out of the country. Just not lucky enough for it to have been a vacation.

On Tuesday there were a series of attacks that left a great number of Aurors incapacitated. (read, dead or hospitalized) The attacks were still going on, but there was no one to take care of them. So, a few of the more promising and skilled desk Aurors were called out into the field for the first time. Guess who was one of them.

Let's just say that until you've been in the field, you can have no idea what it's really like. You can think you're ready, but you will not be ready in truth until you've actually faced it, and then you just have to hope you're lucky enough to survive it.

When I arrived the curses were flying fast and furious from both sides. I'm glad hexing Slytherins had become a reflex with me during my school years or I likely wouldn't be here to type this out now. I'd be in St. Mungo's or worse.

After several gruelling days of fighting, then capturing and all that good stuff, there was a literal ton of paperwork I got to do. I've only now gotten home.

Moony was so glad to see me, he just hung onto me for ages, crying on my shoulder. Now he's in the kitchen making me a very, very late dinner as I haven't eaten all day. Then I get to spend all of tomorrow being pampered by my wonderful lover and on Monday it's back in to the office.

Can't ever say my job is boring, at least.

Yep, that's me. Crying my eyes out over him (this time of happiness that he was back unharmed - well mostly) and then pampering him back to a life that keeps him going.

I think it's time of dropping hints to leave a will...

Oh, and I think, I think someone mentioned the date for a wedding on September 15th! Good enough after the full moon for me to fully recover and that should be great. Then she also mentioned the bachelor party, which Siri is supposed to organise. I asked Lily if she was crazy, but she's firm. She needs her soon to be husband out of the house and safely away and a drinking party seems to be the best way to make him... SO - it's to take place TWO nights before the wedding to give everyone time to sober before the real thing...

Actually Moony, we were planning on August 30. It's before the term starts at Hogwart's, and well after the moon. As for the bachelor party... I honestly don't want to know anything about it as long as you're all safe. If I had wanted a 'tame' party, I wouldn't have put you in charge of it Siri.

I'm so sorry about... everything... I know. Believe me, I know. And dealing with it on a personal level is as much of a daily struggle as dealing with it at work is. I think that may be part of why James hasn't been posting yet, he doesn't want to have to recap yet again.

Take care you two.

~Lily
