    About A Girl
This is a tale of the girl who runs like the wind.
And it's obvious when you realise that her Chinese name has a word' 敏' (which means quick/agile) in it and see how hyperactive she is.
So we shall call her Min.

And one of the nicest things that happened to this girl was knowing a boy called Han.

They met when they were 9. When he transferred from another class, and was made to sit beside her. He hoped that she wouldn't recognise him. Recognise him as the boy who sat the same Bus No.3 home together a year ago. But he was wrong.

Her reaction was almost instantaneous. "!!! 我知道你是谁了!! 你就是跟 Johnathan 一起搭 bus 回家的那个瘦瘦高高 bamboo!!" "我跟你讲啊~ 你最好不要欺负我不然我会扁你的!!" Boy was she fierce. *shocked look*

He was a little apprehensive about her. She was so fierce to him that he didn't dare go against her. She was scary to say the least and he wondered how long more he'd last before she killed him.

But as time passed, he realised she wasn't all that bad. She was caring, and super protective of her little "sister" Hui. She'd go to the ends of the earth for her. She loved to talk a lot too. He accomodated her by talking with her too. It didn't go well with the teachers, becos she was always the one who got caught in action lol. He felt it was funny. But he nvr did anything wrong!! She was the one talking most of the time! *gives a nonchalent look*

He brought out the playfulness in her. She didn't like it one bit. She felt he brought out the worst in her. So she started punching people. Actually she just punched him.

The only time she didn't punch him was after recess and PE. Cos' he came back all sweaty, much much sweatier than her even after PE. And his seat would be wet cos' of it. His uniform too. It totally grossed Min out. And she laughed when in primary 6 the teacher made all the guys stand outside after recess cos' he said their sweatiness was distracting everyone. Actually she mainly laughed at Han. He felt embarrassed. But hey, soccer was his new found passion!! PE was his favourite lesson but he could never outrun Min. She was literally like the wind. She ran so fast that he was left smelling dust all the time.

So the only time he could get back at her was when he was all sweaty.

They hit each other in between lessons. Scolded each other and called each other names. Threw each other's pencil boxes away. But they also chatted on the phone and met at the playground. The playground was where all the kids in their neighbourhood go to play, and the playground was right beside where Han lived. And if Min called loud enough and hard enough, his head would usually pop out from the window on the fourth floor. She was the fierce and commanding one, he was the timid one. Yet somehow they got along perfectly well.

They became buddies without realising it.

One day Han was playing around with his staples, and managed to get a staple stuck on his thumb. He did it on purpose but it looked as though it was bleeding 'cos he'd accidentally drawn a red jagged line on his thumb where the staple was stuck on. Min saw it and was horrified. She grabbed his hand thinking that he'd stapled his own thumb by mistake. Han had a good laugh out of it. Min was completely embarrassed.

And one day, Han found a book on sharks. He decided to use the gross pictures in the book to scare Min. She screamed and gave Han a tight slap across his face. The connection was sweet, the sound extremely loud and the silence was awkward. They didn't talk to each other after that.

And another few days later they forgot about it. At least they stopped talking about it. They couldn't resist not talking to each other at all.

And yet another day, when Min cried after being bullied by the naughty boys in their class. Han tried to get them to stop. He tried to stop them. But he became their next target instead. And Min tried to stop them this time. But the both of them became the bullies' prime targets instead. Of course they never succeded in stopping the bullies. But he was grateful for her help nonetheless. It only served to make their bond stronger.

They never saw each other much after they left primary school. So they kept in touch through the cards that they sent, a card for every major festival & birthday every single year.

But there was a day when the cards stopped coming, and the cards sent by Han didn't seem to reach its intended recipient. Min had moved. And she had forgotten to tell Han. The cards dried up for a little while, but he wasn't giving up so easily. Han managed to track down Min, and found out that she had accidentally lost his address too. Min moved a few more times after that but Han always managed to find her again somehow but it was getting harder and harder to find her each time she moved. Han wondered if there would come a time when he wouldn't be able to find her anymore.

But fate would have it for them to reunite 5 years later at PJC. It was as though they had never been apart. They had changed quite a bit over the years, but the bond was still strong. And Han wasn't going to let his closest fren slip away again. He made sure he got all her contacts so that he wouldn't lose her again ;).

There are countless "one days..", and an endless stream of memories shared by them since they were 9. A bond forged from the moment Miss Wong forced Han to sit beside Min among so many other girls to keep him focused in class (yea right.. wahhaha). The cards that never stopped, and the little giraffes that Min bought for Han.

And yes, it will never ever stop.

So its time for Han to return a very belated thank you to his closest buddy. Since the time in the yellow school bus and counting ^^.

Of course they are so many other wonderful friends we had. Hui, Kiang, Li, Yi Cai, Wei Wen... :). But you'll always be my wonderful buddy. Always.
