Diet Coke w/ Splenda = phenomenal. They might as well stop selling the regular stuff.

McDonald's Fruit & Walnut Salad = disappointing. I don't know what I was expecting (perhaps an actual salad with lettuce n tomotoes n shit and then fruit and walnuts on top of that)...but this was just a sliced apple, some grapes, a packet of 'candied' almonds (like honey roasted peanuts), and a cup of yogurt. Not really a salad in my book. It's definitely the healthiest fucking thing on their menu, and not all that expensive...but you might as well go to the grocery store and buy an apple, cup of yogurt, and some nuts.

Me = idiot. I pulled up to the park today to play basketball with my friends, and attempt to close my windows. Passenger's side refuses to go up...i try again...turn the car off and back on again...nope. So i play ball, ask my friend if he'd pick me up from the Acura dealer and then drive me home...he agrees...and I start on the way to the dealer. I stop at a light, and glance at the buttons...there are little red lights within the buttons, the drivers one is lit, the passengers is not...i think...wait a second, there's a window disabling button on the car...where is it...ah, right on top of the power window buttons. I push on it, the red light on the passenger button turns on, and the window goes up. At least I figured it out before I reached the dealer..."Sir, the car is still under warranty, but we're going to bill you shop time for being a dumbass.'

Shure = great company. A week and a half ago, my decently expensive, 2 month old earphones (e2c's), broke. The sound from the right earphone was intermittant, and then nonexistant. So i was going to post about that, and the dilemma it left me in:

    Do i wear
    a) The shitty apple earphones

that sound ok, but are immensely uncomfortable and annoyingly white?

    b) My Grado SR-80's

that sound wonderful and are retro cool but bulky as hell and open-air (meaning that everyone else can hear what i'm listening to)?

Neither option was good...I sent my headphones in for repair/replacement last Tuesday via Priority Mail. I called today to see whether they'd been received yet and when I could expect to get them back...and was notified that they already shipped out a replacement and UPS tried to deliver it yesterday. I know they're located a half hour from me, but that's pretty fucking good service. And the earphones are pretty good too...hopefully i won't have to make use of the 2 year warranty again...

I'd just happily wear my Grado SR-125s...yes, they're bulky, and the mini-plug adapter makes the cord a little harder to tuck away, but ohhhhh that sound. Oh, and if other people object to hearing great music, they're just gonna have to eat a dick on that one.

(It's getting harder to convince people that I haven't been more anti-social than usual.)

125's eh? Guess I need to upgrade...

It's just the self-consciousness would increase greatly if I was wearing the Grados in my standard business casual work clothes...I'd feel slightly ridiculous.

Hi back! Yeah, I love my Grados...it took me a week or two to stop feeling self-conscious in 'em, though. Now I just feel hep as shit when I wear them - they put a little roll in my stroll.

Not yet - I was supposed to be back on Friday night, but the plane had a "maintenance issue" so the flight was pushed back to Saturday. It's really comforting to know I'll be flying across the Pacific on a plane that was broken as recently as today.

Try dealing with this: I will depart Misawa at 9 PM on Saturday, and...after flying for approximately 10.5 hours...will arrive in Seattle at 3:30 PM on Saturday. They say the trip can cause up to two weeks of jet lag.

Well I got my replacement Shures back...so the issue no longer exists. Unless I wear the Grados occassionally...hmm.

Actually i think the bigger problem with the Grados is the open-air design. Fine if i'm walking around the streets like I did at college...annoying as hell to fellow commuters on the crowded rush hour El trains. But...hmm.
