    Current mood:Geeky.
    Current music:Switchblade Symphony - Rain.

    Newbie = n00b = |\|00|3 = cerebral system failure

    [x] Story behind the screenname: CN is the molecular formula of a cyanide ion, minus the minus sign. I'm somewhat of a chemistry nerd.

    [x] Top 5 bands: #1 spot goes to KMFDM. Zeromancer is a close second. NIN and Rammstein vie for 3rd and 4th. Apocalyptica's original works come in a distant fifth. As you can see, I'm mostly into industrial and "power rock," and I definitely should not become an announcer for horse racing because I'd bore everyone out of their minds. I still have a soft spot for video game/anime soundtracks, though. Give me an FF7 soundtrack CD, and I'll be happy for hours.

    [x] Bottom 5 bands: If I dislike a band, I don't listen to them, and I don't waste my time actively hating them. It's been a long time since I've lost all track of what's going on in the pop, rap, and r&b worlds. I just don't care. What would be the point?

    [x] What makes you geeky?: Too many things to list. I play way too many PC/console games for my own good and mental health (I know everything about Final Fantasy 7), I go to LAN parties, I'm a member of the Academic Decathlon at my school, I read sci-fi/fantasy and write some as well, I'm a hybrid nerd of English-Science (as opposed to Math-Science and English-History) and am anal about spelling and usage (usage, people, not grammar, grammar is the study or the system of words, usage is how you use them), I'm straightedge, and I play three different instruments. That, and I write fanfiction. And I'm not ashamed.

    [x] Special talents or quirkinesses: I've written my own language and use it frequently in my head. As much as I love computers and electronics, I have a respect and admiration for nature, minus human beings, as well. Still, if someone were to hold a computer and a puppy over the edge of a building, I'd probably choose to save the computer. Call me cold. I say I'm practical. The puppy is soft and yielding, and much more likely to survive or be caught than the poor, helpless, angular computer.

    [x] Photo, if available (please use LJ-Cuts!): I admit, I am a computer geek without a webcam. This makes me feel like I forgot to wear my pants to school. On Saturday. During July. At least I'm not a Mac user.

    [x] Basic facts about yourself (age, location, hobbies, etc.): I am 16, and live in the obscure suburbs, whose name no non-residents will ever recognize, surrounding New York City, just across the putrid stream of mutated, radioactive fish they call the Hudson. I'm an avid gamer in love with Final Fantasy 7, if you couldn't tell, which I believe was the best in the FF series. Aside from professional gaming, professional miscellaneous computer-use, and professional slacking, I'm also a part-time high school senior-to-be.

    [x] Whatever else you'd like to tell us: Actually, in appearance, I'm more of a "goth" than a "geek," though I tend to deny it. (Then again, I was seated in front of a very busily multi-tasking computer once, wearing a T-shirt with binary on it, reading Lord of the Rings and humming the Tetris song when someone asked if I was goth, so I figure I am justified.) Computers and games are my forte, though I do know a lot about literature and the sciences. Oh, and my sense of humor is very dry and sarcastic, but I'm not insensitive or shallow. So, if any of the above offended... I probably intended it that way.

    Over and out.

Final Fantasy 7 was so fun. I can remember having my characters so tweaked I didn't even have to try to beat Emerald and Ruby Weapon because my counter attacks would kill them.

Mac > Windows
Linux > Windows

The only thing wrong with those to OS is that its like having a square peg in a room full of round holes. Not many people use them. Offices that use Mac or Linux have a much easier time working efficiently.

I go to LAN parties too. A few days ago we all got together and played Unreal 2003 and Warcraft III... fun stuff.

The Mac thing was a joke, more to make fun of the fanatical Mac/Windows/Linux users than anything else. One of my computers actually is a Mac, so I suppose I am a Mac user after all.

Despite your abilities to outwit even the Great Rennifer, to an extent, of course...

*mumbles* You're warmly welcomed to the freakshow.
