Current music:Against Me! - Pints of Guiness Make You Stronger

    The status of society
This is a very broad question so as long as it pretains to society's current status, anything goes.

I guess I'll give it the first go since I'm fucking bored and sober.

While "being different" was more of a punk trend in the past, it seems like everyone is joining that bandwagon. Half of everyone I talk to keeps mentioning how they go against the flow. "You see, I don't follow trends, I'm different if you haven't noticed." Gee, talking like that makes you real fucking different. It just bothers me how many people do things "differently" to stand out, doing what they do because it's different rather than them actually being like that.

And depression, that seems to be becoming a trend as well. Now a days, it's the thing for some people to "never be happy and be oh so miserable." Give me a break, I have depression but not like I take pride in that. Not to mention the pride some take in having "scars from attempted suicide." I can't say I've never tried 'cause I have nearly killed myself by ODing on anti-depressants when I was drunk off my ass once. I was lucky I ran out of pills.

Discrimination will never end. In this day and age, the discrimination isn't just abusive, now it's also labeling in a friendly manner. Take for example this girl in one of my classes: In her obnoxious manner, she goes about how "I hang out with punks, goths, koreans, whoever!"

Anyhow, I think I'm starting to go in circles to an extent. The reason my opinion of the status of society is more focused on highschool/middleschool is simply 'cause I'm 17. Not like I can write about being an adult.

"Nothing of me is original, I am the combined effort of everyone I've ever known."

Yes yes, you're absolutely right. It happens all the time at my school. I used to think it was because a lot of people just wanted to look and be cool, but I also think that some people (like that girl in your class there) are just ignorant. And one can't really be mad or frustrated at the ignorant. But maybe I'm just wrong here and maybe those 'ignorant' people I was talking about are one step ahead of me. Who knows? No one ever will.
