Do You Know Your Hallelujiahs?
Here is a BBC quiz to see if you can match the artist singing to each version of Leonard Cohen's song Hallelujiah. I got 5 out of 8 - not excellent, but respectable nonetheless, considering I hadn't heard most of the versions.

For those not in the know, the reason for the quiz is because Alexandra Burke, the winner of the X Factor, is releasing this song as her debut single.

	I got 6 out of 8 - mostly by voice recognition (I've never heard the versions by k.d. lang, Willie Nelson, or Bono before but I knew their voices.) I knew the 'definitive version' & I've heard Cohen's version (which I figure should at least qualify as seminal. And I got the gimme answer at the end ;-). That was fun, thanks! 	I got the same as you, 5/8. If Alexandra Burke gets to number one I'll be most depressed. I am going to purchase the Buckley version because it's at least 3000 times better. (Reply to this) (Thread)

I am tempted to do that, solely because I hate it that it's a given that the X Factor single will be the Christmas number 1. I'm not a fan of Alex's version, but I quite like her and think she's going to be a bit more like Leona Lewis than Leon Jackson in terms of success. But still, it'd be really cool if the Buckley version got to number one. Not sure how feasible it is though because, even though it's forecast to be number two, there might be a massive gap between that and Alex's version. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
