Also... while I am glad to see Ten happy for a change, isn't he.. very chipper? Considering the last time we saw him was, you know, alone, in the rain, and not very happy.
Also also, now David Morrissey's Doctor is a person I can imagine River Song talking about. We shall see.
As for the chipperness, I think it's probably because it was a special for Children in Need, even though it was a preview for the Christmas episode. People tune in to CiN to watch funny clips from their favourite TV shows and stars (as well as the charity aspect of course). It wouldn't really have fit in ver well with the feeling of the night if he'd been all dark and depressed, even if that is better continuity.
I read on another journal that this scene takes place a long time after Journey's End, which would have given him plenty of time for sadness and heartache. Po' tiny Doctor.
Yeah, sadness would probably not work too well for CiN. In the meantime, I read the same thing as Cazzle - DT apparently said somewhere that the Christmas Special takes place a long time after Journey's End for the Doctor, which is actually something that I think is needed & works very well at the same time. :-)
Ohmigod, YES! Tiny Gwion! How cute! And how much do I love that he was the Oliver picked to do it! It's because he's THE BEST! I'll be so gutted if he's not Oliver the night I go to see it.
