Passion I waited for days Until the wait became universal Like words And I could imagine no time Beyond these sparse seconds In which we can smile Without concern Without the mud of Associations. But I do not want this I swore I would not poison myself again. I will not be slaved to such empty thoughts. I would renounce these breaths These dawn-lit dyings Between us If I had the strength I would be worthless, and free from The heat of my blood. But there is no more salt In the channels of my mind To clean the furnaces Which burn through my fingers My pupils And turn My every sunrise Into waiting For your eyes to open. |
