Happy Birthday, whoever you are.
I knew you as a bump
Knew how you slowed proceedings,
Made your mother glow
With her secret life

Although you were living
If not in full view
Then something like it
Radiating your joys and hopes
Through that odd inverted button
Through your promises.

While you hid yourself
You were a power
A king.
How strange, they say,
So small a thing can
Scream so loud.

It's only shock.

Or rather honesty.
In 20 years, you'll be lying
Just like me.
