    Current mood: tired
Current music:Shingetsutan Tsukihime - The Sacred Moon

a constant lack of sleep really does make you feel drunk in the morning -_-
the beat to this song somehow reminds me of the opening theme to the original streets of rage. even though everything else about the song is nothing like it. eerie choral music that somehow fascinates me. as for the series itself, I think of it as hellsing with more drama and mysteriousness. even though I've only seen the first episode of hellsing.

and arcueid brunestud is the cutest bad-ass vampire woman evar. who knew that a blond haired, red-eyed woman with an off-white sweater and a simple maroon dress could have that kind of effect?

but I digress. yes, I'm putting off these entries again. I should keep them short and simple, so they're not as intimidating. on the other hand, I originally planned on making this journal more than a simple newsbyte of the stuff I do. sigh.

Honey came in and she caught me red-handed
Creeping with the girl next door...
Picture this, we were both butt naked
    Bangin' on the bathroom floor...

that pretty much sums up what we and the other guys next door noticed around 2 weeks ago. I'll never quite look at the first shower stall the same way again. or the people in the room to the left of ours.

and no... it wasn't me =)

started playing final fantasy tactics advance on my emulator shortly after sam came back from break with the strategy guide from nintendo power. ah, nintendo power. those were the days. anyways, it's only been around 2 weeks, yet I already managed to log 70 hours. without save states or game acceleration. I swear, those time logs are just there to give you a sense of guilt.

and now I'm getting back into front mission, since brian found out about it. I was on my way to beating it a long time ago, but I stopped for some reason.

this past friday was rather amusing. after anime club, I came back to find 6 people playing magic in the lobby. so we played until around 2, 2:30. then we went to play DDR at einsteins and stop by 7-11 afterwards. best part was on the way to 7-11, when some guys in a car passed by and called us "fucking queers". now I can truly say that I've experienced geekdom :D

day after that, there was the plan II date auction. bids went from 50 bucks to 100 bucks to 220 bucks on the last girl. good times. and no, I didn't make myself available. I'm an awfully boring guy most of the time. went to an anime marathon afterwards. legend of the new snow white pretear. surprisingly good. elizabeth wasn't kidding when she said it gets better later on.

which reminds me, I need to write a review for that. sadly, I've also been putting this off, after realizing that it takes around 45 minutes to an hour for me to write a review. and yet I can somehow log 70 hours for a game within a space of two weeks. well, thanks to my twisted logic, I stay away from things that require a definite time investment. I hate to admit this, but watching anime falls under this category. games, on the other hand, can take away as much time as you want. so I end up playing those instead =\

and my reviews are still not up in animetempy. boo. I might end up rewriting a few of those reviews anyway, like the metropolis one.

ugh. winamp isn't responding. stupid comp sci program, sucking away my resources.

this week has been a bit more hectic than most. although I don't think it matches up to last week, when I had to do my world lit presentation.

comp sci - boggle program. yes, boggle as in the hasbro game. I keep bitching about it here because the main difficulty in the program is finding a way to get the computer to find all the possible words in a 4x4 array. and it takes forever, even with the time-saving procedures put in. forever as in "more than half an hour".

geology - test next monday. other than that, it's not contributing much to this week.

physics - test tomorrow. kinda snuck up on me. not sure if I can find much time to study for it.

ayn rand - rough draft of essay due tomorrow. even though it's a "rough draft", it's more like a nearly-finished product. 1500-1700 words. although in the past two essays, most of the problems I got involved insufficient clarification, I'm not sure if there's enough to say on this topic.

world lit - meet with teacher to discuss progress on major project. which is zero for me. I checked out 5 books from the PCL, but only one of them turned out to be useful. fortunately, that one book is extremely useful for my project, but still. haven't written anything new yet besides the abstract we had to turn in. and I have to make a presentation by next thursday. oy. I have to e-mail the professor tomorrow.

wtf. I managed to get winamp to respond briefly, but now it's locked up again. rar.

I should go to bed right now. except my program is still running. arrgh.

so much for a short and simply journal entry. at least it kept me occupied. the time could have been better spent writing my rough draft, except loading and using openoffice under the current circumstances would be bad for my computer.

one more thing. she already knows I said this, but I'll say it again anyway. happy birthday andi =)

<16x8x7x7 < 2^(4+3+3+3)=2^13. Even at 32 ops per string, that's just 2^18. A quarter-million ops. Assuming it took you an hour, that gives you a 69.4 hz. computer.

don't make fun of my laptop =( I did figure out what was taking it so long. it was the way I wrote my lexicon class from last week's assignment.

first of all, when creating the lexicon object to begin with, I had the add function look for the correct spot (to maintain lexicographical order). handy if the stuff you're adding isn't in order. but if you have a 1 mb txt file that's already sorted, it's probably best to just call the default arraylist add function to stick the word at the bottom.

second, when searching for a valid prefix (to see if the current path through the boggle array, I had the function sort the list first, to make sure it was in order so the function would work properly. not recommended for a lexicon of this size. once I commented that out, everything was slick.

lan party saturday night. another all-nighter. apparently, acm managed to pick up a model to hand out bawls. she said she wanted to go for free to reach her "target audience". should I go? I have theater rehearsal saturday and sunday, since we perform end of next week =\
