    Monday Morning Knitblogging
My swap parcel has been collected from the post office!

I was very good and didn't immediately rip it open, so I could share the experience with you all. I took photos, including one of Ro diving into the box to retrieve the toy lamb (which was a present for him). Unfortunately, I'd forgotten to put the memory card into the camera, so the photos were taken on the camera's internal memory, which I don't have a cable to download. Instead, you have some pictures taken after Ro had gone into a wild frenzy of excitement.

    Stash
This is what it all looked like when Ro had helped me spread it all round the living room.

    Books
These two books were in my collection. I've already knitted my swatch for my first project from Miss Bea's Rainy Day. More details in a bit. I was actually admiring this book on Saturday, as one of the ladies at KTog was knitting from it. I also learnt how to knit from a chart this week (Not, as I first tried, from top left, to bottom right), so I might try to make use of them, rather than just following the written instructions. The other book also looks good. Nice, manageable project sizes.

    Socks!
I don't know what I did with this picture. This, I assure you, is some fabulous green sock yarn, from The Yarn Yard. It was suggested I use it for a pair of socks for mUrt, which I think I will. It is, after all, his favourite colour. I haven't decided on a pattern yet (haven't had time to browse), but I might go with the one that was in the most recent Magknits. Possibly. This really is a gorgeous colour I don't understand why the rug is still green, but the yarn isn't in the photo.

    Posh
This is a skein from Posh Yarns. This is definitely going to be used just for me. The tones are wonderful. It makes me understand why Posh Yarns sell out of almost everything as soon as they update the shop.

This is also from Posh Yarns. I'm actually sitting cuddling this as I type. It's 100% cashmere. I also love the colours.

Seeing all these skeins, I'm really glad I bought a ball winder this week!

And this is what I've used to make my swatch. I'm going to knit the Racing Sweater, which will suit my baby boy perfectly.

This is some lovely Lush soap and hand cream. I've already used the hand cream, it's a lovely one. Ro has also tried to eat the handcream, but we'll gloss over that. Suffice to say, hand cream and boy both remain intact.

This is a project bag, which Ruth made herself.

This is my current sock project, already snuggled in the bag.

These are the sheepy postcards which told me all about the goodies.

Sweets and tea. The tea isn't one I've tried, but it sounds delicious. I like peppermint tea and I love fennel tea, so I'm looking forward to trying the combination. Skittles are just my favourite sweets ever, and I like Opal Fruits too (yes, I know, Starbursts now). Ro thought the Opal Fruits were great. I had to keep trying to rescue them from him and he cried bitterly when I finally got them all hidden away from him (he was consoled with a biscuit).

This is a lovely notebook and some stitchmarkers. It is testament to how much there was in this parcel, that when she was writing her explanation, Ruth managed to miss these off the list! When we started this swap, I didn't understand stitch markers. I just didn't get the point. Then I tried short row heels. Stitch markers make them so much simpler. I'm also part way through knitting Rhiannon a cardigan in one piece from the top down. I've been improvising stitch markers for that, so having proper ones, especially such pretty ones, is great.

Finally, a quick pic of Ro being overly curious with the hand cream (currently, he's sitting in the box that my gifts came in).

I can't begin to put into words how wonderful this parcel was. I called this entry Monday Morning... but actually, it is early evening now. It has taken me all day (in between knitting and dealing with a grumpy boy who won't sleep) to get this written. I can't believe how generous and thoughtful Ruth has been in selecting these things for me. I really do love it all. I couldn't have asked for better swap partners (my downstream has been wonderful too). I've really enjoyed myself.

I'm so glad you like it. I had such fun putting it all together. I snuck in the stitchmarkers at the last minute after I read a comment of yours about needing more. You have been a fantastic pal to spoil and I hope you enjoy making the Racing Sweater. Looking forward to see what it looks like knitted up.

I can't see Rohan in that last picture. Is he hiding behind the incredibly tall boy?

Goodness me! Also, I think I see a bit of green in that not-green-but-why? picture. Most curious.

I love how Ro's sitting in the box at the end of the story! He's getting so big now! More photos? ;-)

I was going to add more pics of Ro to this post, but figured there were rather too many pics here already.

Those pretty stitchmarkers alone are almost enough to make me want to get into kntting.
