    Diet.
Man... dieting is hard. I promised myself yesterday that I have officially gone on a diet. And this is not some silly phase where I say I'll get thin and never do. No, this is different. I'm going to use my dad's exercise equipment, drink more water, and eat less food. Coca-Cola has been axed from my diet completely. According to my dad's magazine, if you drink one can of coke a day, you'll gain ten pounds in a year. If you drink four cans a day, you'll gain forty.

    Interesting.

Today, I didn't eat lunch. It sucks, because lunch is the time of day that I look forward to the most. No more cookies. Maybe I'll munch on a cheese pretzel every now and then. They're damn good when they're fresh.

My goal is to lose at least 20 pounds by the end of next month. Maybe more, if that's possible. And the harder part - don't gain them back. I decided it was time to diet when I saw the one pair of pants that usually sagged on me began to fit. That's a bad sign.

Day one was painful. Didn't have any caffeine, so the chemicals in my brain weren't balancing out correctly. I need writer fuel. Wake-up juice.

Good thing coffee is naturally fat-free. Looks like my stops to Starbucks will end up being more frequent.

    Oh boy.

A few people who read this entry asked me the same thing: what about diet pop?!?! Will that also make you fat?!

You guys can stop being worried. Diet pop has no calories, and in my opinion, it's the equivalent of colored water. There's just a little sodium in it. My dad drinks tons of diet pop... the fridge is stocked with Diet Coke and Diet Vanilla Pepsi. I'll have to mooch off him.

Laura's interesting. After she eats a big meal, her stomach blows up briefly, and after a few minutes, goes back to being normal. (She told me this, and had me pick her up to prove it.) It's really quite interesting, and I'm insanely jealous. (Ha ha.)
