The next morning – well, afternoon actually – everyone went back to the concert venue to prepare for the tonight show. The show will start at 7pm; right now, it’s 4pm and the boys just finished doing some rehearsals. They still had time to kill so they decided to get some sleep. However, they slept all over the place. The hair and makeup crew were left in the dressing room, getting more acquainted, along with some of the backup dancers.

Anna and I are like the youngest out of everyone. Everyone was like 2 to 4 years older or more than us. It was already 5:45pm and that’s when the boys finally decided to wake up from their snores and get ready with their hair and makeup. Ryan and Spencer could be heard talking but suddenly stopped when they reached the doorframe.

“The usual, Spence?” Anna asked as Spencer sat on the chair with Anna ready to do his makeup.

“Um…” Spencer discreetly glanced at Ryan who was busy looking for his MAC liquid eyeliner. He could be heard grumbling and muttering about where the hell his eyeliner went. Unfortunately for him, Spencer swiped the eyeliner away from him when he wasn’t looking. “Looking for something, Ry?”

“Yeah, I can’t find my eyeliner. Damnnit.”

“Why don’t you let Anna do your makeup?” Ryan froze on his spot and suddenly stopped looking all over the place. “I can have my makeup done later. I can just have a simple decoration underneath my eye or something. You on the other hand, always need something complicated.” He smirked and gestured for Anna to go towards Ryan.

Brendon was smirking and so was Jon. They were up to something, I just know it. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but it better be good since this Anna doing Ryan’s makeup for a change we’re talking about! Ryan narrowed his eyes at Spencer as he sat down. Spencer just grinned at him as he let one of the hairstylists do his hair for him.

“So…what design do you want?” Anna asked, sounding a bit nervous. I bit my lower lip to keep myself from bursting into fits of laughter.

Ryan thought for a bit, putting his fingers on his chin. “Surprise me.” He smiled at her. A pink tinge crept to Anna’s cheeks as she nodded and began to do a design underneath Ryan’s eyes. This is going to be a long interesting makeup session and it will be part of history.

“I never noticed you had a lip ring.” Brendon observed as I placed some powder around his face. It’s been a week already and he only noticed it now? Well, at least he’s kind of observant.

“Well, maybe you’re not looking at my face long enough.” What the fuck? Where did that come from? I tried to keep my cool and resist myself from banging head first on the table, but I couldn’t stop myself from blushing.

Brendon laughed. “So are you saying I should look at you for a very long time?”

“I didn’t say anything, but it’s your call.” I replied, slightly pinching his nose. He laughed again and didn’t reply back.

Moments later, the coordinator barged in the room and told everyone to hurry up so the boys can get into their costumes and they had 10 minutes to do all of that. Anna quickly applied the finishing touches on Ryan’s makeup; he was the only band member left in the room and Anna tried to hurry herself.

“We’re wasting precious time here!” The coordinator exclaimed out of frustration and this placed some more pressure on Anna. Finally, she was done and Ryan hurried out of the room without even glancing at the mirror and giving thanks to his makeup artist.

“Well, that was rude.” I said as I approached Anna who was fixing up her things that were cluttered all around.

Anna shrugged. “I’m sure he has his reasons. He is in a hurry so…I’m sure he didn’t mean to forget to say thank you or something.”

I was about to reply back to what she said when one of the hairstylists talked to Anna. “So how does it feel like being the first person – as far as everyone knows – ever to apply makeup on our dear Ryan?”

Anna tried to suppress a grin, but couldn’t. “It felt good. I feel like I just won an award or something.” She laughed and continued to fix her things. When we were through fixing our stuff, we ate our instant ramen noodles dinner and conversed while sitting on the floor. Moments later, the boys were done getting all dressed up. We heard their feet walking and their mouths talking as they passed by the hallway and our open door.

“Anna? Can I talk to you for a sec?” Ryan requested, slightly poking his head inside the room.

“Sure.” Anna answered back, not moving from her sitting position on the floor.

“Err – could we talk outside, privately?”

The rest of us looked at each other. We all had the same confused and curious looks on our faces. Anna blinked, nodded and then got up from the floor, placing her cup of noodles on top of the table. We all watched her leave the room and Ryan closed the door behind them. Our first instinct was to scramble to our feet, press our ears on the door and start eavesdropping, completely forgetting all about our dinner.

“I can’t hear anything!” Jenna, one of the hairstylists complained.

“Ssh!” the rest of us scolded. We pressed our ears against the door more and could hear a bit of an audible conversation happening between Anna and Ryan.
