Title: Untitled [as of now] Author: Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Brendon/OFC & Ryan/OFC Summary: Minutes later, the band emerged backstage with their clothes sticking to their body, sweat dripping from the sides of their faces and makeup smeared which we spent hours on. Disclaimer: You wish it were fake just like Ryan losing the rosevest. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 We’ve been on the road for about a week already and everything has been fun. We already miss Candace and Serena and wonder how they are doing. Right now, Anna and I are lounging off backstage with some of the other crew members, eating some chips that were provided for us. We could hear the band playing outside and the thousands of fans screaming at them. We’re in Detroit right now and will be for two days. This is the first concert and tomorrow night’s the next. We heard the show coming to an end and all of us prepared towels and about a dozen of water bottles to give out, 2 for each band member. Minutes later, the band emerged backstage with their clothes sticking to their body, sweat dripping from the sides of their faces and makeup smeared which we spent hours on. Up until now, Ryan always did his makeup. I was always working on Brendon’s makeup, Anna on Spencer’s and another chick on Jon’s. From the mirror, I’d always notice Anna glancing at Ryan who was busy with himself, applying intricate designs such as lightning underneath his eyes with the use of the almighty eyeliner and circling his eyes and across the bridge of his nose with red eye shadow. Everyone went back to the cheap hotel nearby to get some rest, take a shower and go to sleep – especially the band, but according to Anna and me, the night was still young so we decided to take a walk down the streets of Detroit. We were leaving our room and walking down the hallway towards the elevator when a voice behind us suddenly stopped us. “Where are you girls going?” We slowly turned around and saw Brendon with a bunch of Capri Sun in his hands. He probably got it from the vending machine down the hallway. I looked at Anna for an answer and she just gave me some weird head movements. “Umm…just hanging around…at the lobby…by the ba–” Anna nudged me hard on my ribs, “I mean, by the pool!” “At 10 o’clock?” “Hey, the pool’s awesome at night.” Anna shot back. “You wanna join?” I blurted out and more rib nudging came from Anna’s elbow. I don’t know what possessed me to invite him, since one: because going to the pool wasn’t on our original plan; two: we were supposed to go barhopping and three: inviting one of the band members wasn’t either, especially if it’s the hot lead vocalist. Yeah, I just said hot lead vocalist. “That is unless you’re not too tired and you’d rather sleep instead after a long night. I mean, you still have another concert tomorrow night and then we depart to our next destination.” Anna said, hoping it would convince him not to come with us. Brendon thought for a while. “Hmm…I think I’ll call it a night. You girls enjoy your time by the pool then.” He smiled at us and went back to his and Ryan’s room. When he was out of eyesight and earshot, we breathed a sigh of relief. “You idiot! You almost let it slip that we’re going barhopping!” Anna slapped my arm and glared at me. “Do you know how bad it will be for us if they find out that we – their makeup artists – are a bunch of party animals, drinking vodkas and martinis till there’s no tomorrow?” “Well, sorry!” I rubbed the sore spot on my arm. “Let’s go then before they catch us again.” I pulled on Anna’s arm and together we went down to the lobby. We were about to leave the entrance when we felt hands grab our shoulders. To our surprise, we turned around and saw both Brendon and Ryan with smiles on their faces. “What are you guys doing here?” we asked, with eyes wide open. “Do you have to ask? We’ve decided to join you two. We figured it’ll be our chance to get to know you more.” Brendon replied. “And aren’t you girls going the wrong way? The pool’s over there.” He pointed to another direction with a hotel map. “Oh, right! We’re so blind, right Emmy?” Anna exclaimed, turning to me with her eyes sending a message. “The pool’s over there and here we are like we’re about to leave the hotel which we’re not!” I think my best friend just lost her mood to go to bars. “Oh yeah! I wonder why we didn’t see the sign. God, we can be so blind sometimes.” The both of them chuckled and then all four of us went towards the pool area. Only a couple of lights were on and the whole place was deserted. We further pulled up the zippers of our hoodies as the air grew colder. We rolled up our jeans up to our knees, sat by the poolside and sunk our feet inside the cold water. Being sensitive to cold water, I shivered. Anna and I sat beside each other with Ryan and Brendon on our other side. Nobody was talking to anyone; we just sat there. More minutes passed and nobody was still talking. “I think we should call it a night now.” I said, taking out my feet from the cold water. “Maybe we can do this again…or something. Well, goodnight. See you guys tomorrow.” Anna followed suit as we said our goodbyes and goodnights. The two boys were still sitting at the edge of the pool when we left and we didn’t know how long they were going to stay there. |
