Managed my second full day at work yesterday. Starting next week, I'm going to work two days a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) in the office, then up it to three (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) as recovery progresses.
Today H and I went for a walk to Waitrose; he goes a little too fast for tortoiselike me, but it wasn't too bad. We dropped in at our local hospice shop on the way and H found me a fabulous pair of brand-new M&S pinkish burgundy chenille gloves with matching scarf for £3 (I was wearing my old cycling gloves because I couldn't find a decent pair of ordinary ones to wear). Brilliant. Saves me having to brave the January sales for a while longer.
My convention/signing event year is shaping up very well already.
So far, my intended meetage includes:
London Super Comic Con
This is the first time I've signed up for a non-SM/ME event, but it gives me the opportunity to meet Stan "The Man" Lee (his first UK visit in about 40 years!), along with various well-known artists, including a couple of artists who've been responsible for some of my favourite comic-related stints over the years: Steve Epting and Ian Churchill. I don't normally geek out over the comic-book side of things, but this time, I'll make an exception.
Klingon Duras sisters photoshoot in full make-up
Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek:TNG/DS9)
Nichelle Nichols (Uhura from Star Trek:TOS)
London Film & Comic Con
Jane Badler (Diana from V)
Laura Vandervoort (Lisa from V)
Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker from Star Trek: TNG)
Tim Russ (Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager/DS9)
Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennet from Heroes)
Bitten 3 (True Blood)
Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette Reynolds)
Sean Maher (I trust you know who this is)
Kristine Sutherland (Ditto)
Sweet. And, hee, the Nerf Herder Buffy theme has just started on my iTunes shuffle playlist. Timely!

I only tend to check the Showmasters' forum after an event, so I've relied on your FB updates on new guest announcements - thanks! I've just added the forum to my bookmark toolbar though, and will try to start checking more often. I've just posted in a thread about them needing help, I specifically asked if they still need someone to help with travel bookings, as I've got experience of that through work...|
I'm hoping to get photos with Hayden, Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause, Chris Judge and Tim Russ at LFCC (possibly redo my not-so-nice Jewel photo), and possibly the Hayden talk. But without knowing times, I'm thinking I might have to go both days so I can avoid the likelihood of overlap or conflicts. For the extra £6, I think it'd be worth it.
I'm going to put this in my calendar, and we can see about meeting up for it, if you like? It also give us something to work towards in terms of losing weight and getting fit! ;-)
