    Whoop-De-Do (expanded entry)
H has enjoyed part 1 of his Open Water Diver course. I am Pleased.

He spent Friday evening at Wellington College pool, Sunday morning doing tests in Bracknell and the afternoon in Slough in a much deeper pool. His legs ache, despite his being so fit, due to the swimming action with flippers being very different to cycling, but he had a great time. He's emailed to confirm his attendance at part 2 of his course, this part being at Wraysbury nature reserve on the weekend of 7 November.

I am also Pleased because on Saturday H installed my two new mirrored 500GB hard drives (Yes, I know you can get 1 terabyte hard drives now, but compared to my 200GB hard drive, things have vastly improved, both in speed and resilience. I've been ripping new music like crazy! There was an Unfortunate Moment when my iPod refused to sync or even be recognized by my computer and that ended Sunday on a sour note, but I started the 5 Rs this evening and Reset worked. Phewwww. For a while I was convinced the disk upgrade (which involved moving our My Documents folders to the new disk drives while keeping program files on C) had corrupted the USB drivers or something. But nope, just a simple reset.

Another, longer-lasting Unfortunate Moment was H's laptop going dead at the same time as my iPod troubles, strangely enough. Even after a day's charging, it's completely unresponsive. Fortunately we think it's still inside guarantee and I have the receipt, so we'll take it back to Tesco tomorrow.

In other news: On Saturday, I took everything out of the downstairs bog cupboard. (With breaks to call H to evict spiders - around six! Also, to digress, I picked up a pack of tomatoes in Tesco tonight, saw something was clinging to them and realized it was a spider. I dropped them, natch, but managed to keep any shrieking to a faint gasp. Of course, by the time I'd called a nice brave member of staff to come get it, the little bugger was long gone. All I know is that it wasn't one of the recognizable venomous species. Ugh. Anyway.) To return to the main subject, the cupboard is all nice and clean and organized in there now. So, on the whole, a very productive weekend.

5 Rs? You bribed it? Also, spider! A distant cousin of Boris, wreaking havoc, I'm sure. Good times.
