Current music:Life Starts Now - Three Days Grace

    All The Things...
... I got up to over the weekend.

After a last-minute decision (and some hasty getting ready), I went to Reading with my Muv for a shopping trip on Saturday. And a great time was had. I got a couple of new suits (one to replace my current grey one, which is rather shapeless and baggy now), replaced my two scuffed pairs of ankle boots, bought some versatile John Rocha black high heels (I am a convert to this guy as the two pairs of heels I bought from his range are the highest I've ever had, yet incredibly comfortable), replenished some cosmetics and bought some new towels.

We had an incredibly well-behaved lunch at Tootsies: Mediterranean platter starter (two kinds of hummus, salsa, olives, a little feta and pitta triangles) to share (I didn't even eat all my pitta bread!) with house salad.

I was horrified to realize my perfume (Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue) has been discontinued; I managed to find one floating around in a perfume shop (the EA counters don't have it any more) and will snap up any spares I find, but once existing stocks are gone, that's it. I hate perfume shopping as so few fragrances suit me, and that was a lovely one - feminine yet professional. The ones I tried at the weekend in a bid to start the replacement process early were revolting. Oh, well - I'm sure I'll find something.

Had a not-all-that well-behaved supper: grilled blue shark steaks and scallops smothered in white wine and butter sauce with mushrooms and peppers, diced potatoes, grilled Mediterranean vegetables and mixed leaves. Followed by I <3 NY Key Lime cheesecake. (Note to self: ban cheesecake. At least, once this box has been eaten - we're saving it for weekends as a) there's loads of it and b) it's way too Naughty to eat during the week.)

Sunday I was mainly helping H study for PADI. He'd also recorded a marathon session of Monty Python, which might have been hilarious first time round, for all I know (I never saw it), but it certainly wasn't yesterday. We gave up after the first two and deleted the rest. Supernatural made up for it. (Dean: "Don't ever change." Me: "AMEN!")

Downloaded/ripped loads of new music on my iTunes/iPod; my Three Days Grace CD is bloody great, but it was also a kick to go back, back, baaaack in time and buy Howard Jones's Pearl In The Shell and Pet Shop Boys's Introspective (more cassette tape replacements). Am also plotting ways to increase my storage space in the house and back up all the music on my computer as I have so much of it on there now.

(Also re-read Dead To The World for the fourth time in a fortnight and managed not to dribble on the pages.)

All in all, a very pleasant weekend.

Have a great week, dear readers!

Glad that your shopping trip was a productive one, at least. But oh no, that really sucks about your perfume! Have you had a poke about on eBay?

Your supper sound fabulous, especially the sauce on your seafood. Om nom nom.

I think your perfume is still available in the States. Is this it? http://shop.elizabetharden.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2559259&cp=2879146.2938744&parentPage=family

If you want to ship it to me (or someone else over here) I'm sure I/we could ship it to you. I'm just saying.

That's the one! Good to know it's still available in the States. And thank you for the offer to ship it on - that's very kind. I'll have a look into the UK shipping options first and see.

On a side note, I'm fascinated by the contents. I'm clueless when it comes to perfume - I didn't even realize it was a floral. (It's weird that this one is so nice, yet the other Elizabeth Arden fragrances available in the UK smell absolutely revolting on me. Particularly Red Door. YUCK.)

I'll have just got back from the states when you come to mine in October. I could pick some up for you, if you like?

No worries. Let me know how much you would like, and I can get the money from you when I see you.

Red Door makes me want to stab myself in the nose.
