Current music:Fall To Pieces - Avril Lavigne

    Where To Start
    Today's ramblings.

My Breaking Benjamin CD (which was due to be dispatched on Monday) has now been delayed till 15-23 October. Bah! On the positive side, my Three Days Grace CD which was due between 12-26 October is now due 5 October. And HIMYM S4 has been dispatched from the US (after some major hassle accepting my credit card - it didn't, even after I re-input every single detail TWICE, and I had to use H's). INCOMING GAG REEL!

My fears of a quiet week at work have proven unfounded. The CEO is over from the US tomorrow so I've had to produce a couple of last-minute reports for that, one of my customers needed a good sorting-out, several miscellaneous requests have come in... it's been great. Just busy enough without impacting any of my usual deadlines. I wish it always happened like that.

I know the lead singer of a band. No, really. (Actually, I was very nearly the last person to find out.) The band's called October File and they're... well, they've been compared to Killing Joke, if you've ever heard their stuff. They've got albums and EPs on iTunes and everything. The music itself is pretty good, but I don't like screaming, and he does that a lot - I felt really bad having to confess that the vocals were the only bit I didn't like! (It's so funny listening to him on the songs as when I talk to him in person I just can't imagine sounds like that coming out of his mouth. Not to mention seeing him in his band persona, which looks so completely different to his "by-day" image, although he has some excellent tattoos hidden under his shirt sleeves.) He says the current stuff they're working on should be more on my level, and in the meantime I was very happy to find one song of theirs (Landslide), which is exactly the kind of style I DO like - he sings on that and just saves a bit of roaring for the end, which works fine. I've been converting him to Metallica...

In other news, I'm scheduled to go to Collectormania London on Sat 28th Nov for the Supernatural talk and the Misha Collins photoshoot... except that John Barrowman is only going to be there on the Sunday and Anthony Michael Hall is only doing a photoshoot on that day too. Bugger! Looks like I'm going to be going both days, then. *gnashes teeth*

Last paragraph: how unfortunate, yet also awesome. Why, the very definition of "extreme ambivalence"!

Now, see? If you were coming to the Serenity/Firefly Convention, you wouldn't have to worry about being depressed afterward because you would have Collectormania to look forward to just a week later.

Hee. I would also be extremely jet-lagged. And poor. :P

As my son would say "Sleep when you're dead". And you can make more money. (Yes, I will keep badgering you. At least it lets you know that I really would like you to be there).

I have to say, bands are so much more fun when you actually know one of the members. I bought my friend Kristen's band's CD earlier this year, and it just blew my mind in the "Hey, that's KRISTEN!" way.

Hee. I like their blurb. The Crazy Ivans were forged in the Hell-Fires of Mordor, born of the unholy alliance between their mortal mothers and a fallen Sun God...

Oh, and they list Metallica amongst their influences. Nice!
