    Current mood: busy

    Junkies.
Everyone in our house is currenly medicated in one form or another -- except Dwayne.

I'm taking pills and using lotion for acne, special shampoo and special drops for my scalp, and special toothpaste for an annoying tooth sensitivity that has recently developed.

Angelus and Neko are on Prozac for anxiety (which manifests into spraying).

Oz has to have pills twice a day, oral drops 3-5 times a day, injections once a week, and liquid pain medication every three days for his urinary tract condition.

We also have a feline pheromone diffuser going 24/7 in our living room, which means all the cats--including NiƱa--are breathing in feel-good vibes all the time.

In a way, it's kind of satisying because things are somewhat better for all of us with all this medication going on. But it sucks because 1) it's expensive, 2) it's a commitment we have to keep on every day, and 3) we'd all rather NOT have to do it.

Oz is the only one whose condition is serious. He is also the one who has a lot of set backs. I had to give him a big dose or pain medication and keep him locked in my bathroom today because he's having such problems. Sometimes I don't think he'll ever get better.

Poor you guys! I've noticed that the water in different regions affects my flaky scalp. I used to really notice it when I went up north to visit friends, but now I'm in London, I find I'm affected both up north and back home in Devon. I don't wash my hair any differently or use any different products really, so it must be the water (we have hard and soft water areas in the UK).

I hope you guys are better soon!

This is exactly why I take Prozac, too. ;)

Poor Oz, I hope he's feeling better soon.

Once I got a new kitten and he was sick and got my other cat sick, they had like, four different things (that was the LAST TIME I bought a cat from a pet store!) and I swear I had a dozen medications for them. It was crazy.

Yikes. That is a serious commitment and, yes, your health is expensive. It's worth it, though.

Poor kitties. :( I hope that Oz gets better soon.

Although I have to say that it makes me feel better to know that your cats have anxiety. My Lily is, frankly, nuts. We don't really have the money to get her medicated, although thankfully she doesn't spray. (One of my goals in life is to some day live in a house that's free of cat pee.)

I know how you feel. Today my dog ate seven loaves of bread. I've already cleaned up the breadcrumbs, but I can't imagine what the digestive remnants are going to be like. Ack!
