I'm not really sure how to start this entry. I haven't updated in a long time... I've had a lot on my mind, but no way to put it all into words. But I need to update about today... mostly because I promised a few people I would.

Ashton and I went to the doctors today to get an ultrasound. He said he would pick me up bfore the appointment, but he was late. A few hours late. James offered to take me, but Ashton promised he would come, so I waited. By the time he got to my house, I was too tired and irate to ask questions, so we went. Luckily they still let us in, even if we were not exactly on time.

I didn't suspect any medical problems really, but I was curious to see what the baby looked like this early, since I'm only eight weeks pregnant. The doctor asked a few questions, but I wasn't paying attention. And then he did the ultrasound. And... to be perfectly honest... it really didn't look a whole lot like anything to me. I stared at the screen for a few minutes, then to Ashton to see how he was reacting. He probably noticed my confused look, but he didn't say anything. The doctor explained what was supposed to be what, and it made a little more sense.

It was strange to see the baby. Or what will be the baby, anyway. And then the doctor turned on a little machine, and we could hear the heart beating. We could actually hear the baby's heart. That blew me away. Knowing that a real living thing is actually growing inside of me. It's just like... wow. I think Ashton was in awe too, watching the screen. It's amazing the way technology works like this, to see our baby before it's even born, and hear its heart beat. In any case, for your enjoyment..

    Baby Kutcher

I told the doctor that I hadn't been feeling well lately... dizzy and all that. He said it was probably nothing, but to take it easy and relax more for a few weeks. So basically I'm supposed to sit around on my butt all day and eat. Score.

And now... I am getting lazy and I don't feel like typing anymore.. *laughs* Actually, I've felt really tired lately. I can't seem to sleep at night anymore, so I end up sleeping all day long.

So there you have it. My exciting day.

Thank you for allowing me to come with you. That was an experience that could never ever be duplicated and I'm so glad I was there to see our little ... blob. I'll definitely be along for the next visit. Definitely. You're still one of my best friends, Britt. You always will be.

..I was all set to write a heart-felt reply, but you used the word blob to describe our child and now.. my seriousness is completely ruined.
