Hey everyone. I'm a new member to this community and I'm looking for a bit of advice. I'm just beginning my real summer vacation and now I have some serious time for reading, so now the only question is what I should read. My top five books are:
    1. The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
    2. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
    3. Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky
    4. A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
    5. The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery

Top Five Books I absolutely loathed:
    1. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
    2. Emma by Jane Austen
    3. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
    4. Jane Eyre by Charlotte (sp?) Bronte
    5. Night by Elie Wiesel

Hopefully, knowing what kind of literature I enjoy (and dislike) you could help me out. Thanks!

my friend, johnownsyou, and i have found that if you go to amazon.com, and you search for a book - you will get a list of other books that you might enjoy. this is what i found for you

-1984 by George Orwell
-Lord of the Flies by William Gerald Golding
-The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
-Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
-The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
-Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut
-Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
-One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
-Catch 22 by Joseph Heller
and of course, your favorite
-The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

im sure you have read most of them and i only searched for The Catcher in the Rye and A Clockwork Orange so you might want to check for more.

i hope that helped!!!
