I checked out the community, but I won't join simply because it is discouraged to post year of birth. This site enforces the TOS rule that users of this site are 18 & over, & I do not believe it is right to help them hide that information to go against the TOS. Livejournal offers free accounts, & they dropped the invite code system. Blurty maintains the 18+ rule, Livejournal does not. This is an 18+ site, simply put. If people are of age & are not within TOS violation, age posts do not need to be hidden. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

well I am over 18 and the reason I took off the birthdate question was because I found out that if members join who are under 18 [without it even being encouraged] the community will be suspended. I decided it was better that if you want to break the rules and be under 18, that's your business. but don't make it the community's business because we don't want to be suspended for someone else breaking the rule. thanks for the feedback. just wanted to explain myself. ♥ [anni] xxxxx (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The community doesn't get suspended if people are told to put in the year of birth. The only journal suspensions are for those who do list it & are under the age of 18. The community does not get shut down as long as the moderator is over 18. The community CAN be shut down though, if the moderator instructs people to hide proof of age posts though. I've seen it happen. Hell, I have even reported it myself. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
