I'm trying to see it from his supposed point of view (harmless eye candy, window shopping, nothing wrong with imagination but keep your hands off, etc. etc.), but... no, he should not have come out with that. Unfortunate. And skeezy.

We're on September 23rd, not April 1st, right?

Holy crap.

I remember a high school teacher I had, once gathered all the girls in the class and gently made the point that skirts should be knee length for the uniform. Some students' skirts were noticeably higher, and it put the male teachers in an uncomfortable position, because they had to make sure they couldn't even be considered to be looking - and even if they kept their eyes away, if a girl sat on a lab stool with crossed legs, the skirt would flash thigh that was obvious even out of the corner of the eye.

To be honest, I don't really understand what all the big fuss is. It was a stupid comment that he should have kept to himself, but am I surprised that some male lecturers find some female students attractive? No. It's not much different to female students fancying their lecturers sometimes. It's university, not high school, so everyone is an adult. As long as they're just looking and not being inappropriate, I don't see the problem. Although he should have known better than to make the comment.

That's my issue with it. The description is offensive, no matter what the intention was. In my opinion.
