Ok, it's been a while since I reviewed anything, since Beth stole the last fic I was going to review. But since my computer glitched out -both- times when I was doing that review, I think my computer saw the evilness of the fic and decided to commit seppuku both times I tried to review it. But I couldn't -help- myself when I found -this- lovely gem on the pit of voles.

PLOT: -2/5 (PWP to the nth power. The negative points are for the squick factor.)
CHARACTERIZATION: -5/5 (This hurts Jecht. Jecht bleeds.)
TECHNICAL: 2/5 (Spelling is ok, but punctuation is atrocious and how many times must we yell at these authors for putting author's notes in the MIDDLE of a story.
EROTICIZATION OF FATHER/SON RELATIONSHIP: 10/5 (Oh daddy -harder-!)
You know, I should have known better and turned back when I saw the title for this story. I should have, but I didn't. First of all, I was just -too- horrified to -not- look, and second, I wanted to make a point before I started this review in earnest. OK, confession time, incest doesn't -always- squick me. Most of it does, yes. However, in a situation like Oedipus unknowingly doing his mom, or in video game terms, Squall unknowingly doing Laguna, it doesn't squick me as badly. If written well, it doesn't squick me at all. HOWEVER, you have fics like those, and then you have fics like -this-. Incest is made a million times -worse- when the people in question -know- they're related.
And Tidus and Jecht -know- they're related from the first minute of the game.

Why -thank- you for giving me permission, author. I do think I would have hated you quite enough without your permission. And just because it's your -first- fanfiction is no excuse, as I believe has been said on other sites, and probably here several places as well.

The fact that the FFN staff are probably about as intelligent as a group of mealworms aside, the author's notes seem a bit confused in and of themselves. There's either rape or there's not. Also the whole "you know you love it that's why you're reading it" argument amuses me, because there are people, like me, who will read something like this out of morbid curiosity. After all, that -is- why I watched the Escaflowne dub.
Anyway, let's move on to the actual story itself, shall we?
I sat out on the beach, watching the sunset, drowning in the waters until the morning when it would rise(A/N I almost put rice. O_o;;) once more. I was thinking, something I didn't do very often, nor did I ever get much time to think with Blitz, my stupid ass father, Jecht, always telling me I'm not good enough...Even after being Sin, he hasn't changed.
First of all, thou shalt -not- put author's notes in the middle of a story. The fact that you almost put rice instead of rise is -not- vital information to the plot. Also, the second sentence in that paragraph is completely confusing, and since the Author plops us into the middle of the story, people who actually beat the game wonder how in the -hell- Jecht is there. This is explained in the next paragraph, because the author basically says that after running off the airship that Jecht and Tidus -both- end up in Zanarkand. Ummm... I've beaten Final Fantasy X -quite- a few times, and it's impossible for Jecht to be in Zanarkand because he dead. Also, Tidus wakes up in the water on SPIRA. But since the author is throwing FFX-2 out the window, she can make him end up anywhere he wants. Ok, I guess I can handle him being in Zanarkand. However, Jecht shouldn't be there.
Anyway, Tidus swam in from beach, only to argue with Jecht who was out waiting for him. This kind of stuff is actually in character for them, however it was never quite as -angry- as the author portrays it in this fic. For example, I just can't see Tidus telling Jecht to fuck off. @_@ And then Jecht hits Tidus. Did we mention Jecht was stone cold sober during this part? And honestly, even though Tidus seems to have some resentment towards Jecht, there's never any implication that Jecht -hit- him. In fact, the relationship between Jecht and Tidus is -very- complex, and had the author actually paid attention while playing, or done something like gotten all the Jecht Spheres then they'd understand this point.

I was watching TV, flipping through the channels boredly, then I heard him stumble in...drunk..? ~Yevon no... not again..~, I shook my head, as you walked over and sat next to me, putting a tanned, muscled arm around my shoulders, pulling me over, I couldn't do anything..it was useless, you still overpowered me..Again.. I remember still.. When I was a child.. That night..
Ok, this is another example that the author didn't really pay attention. Even if you -didn't- bother spending a few hours hunting up all the Jecht spheres, Auron says at one point during the normal plot of the game that Jecht stopped drinking after he almost killed a shoopuf while he was drunk. So unless Jecht suddenly turned into pre-pilgrimage!Jecht when he magically somehow got back to Zanarkand, he shouldn't be drinking. Second, if what the aythor is implying about Jecht taking Tidus as a child... there would be -serious- emotional and physical scars on Tidus's part, which you don't see portrayed in his character.
But wait... there's more... @_@
You...you bastard..but me.. I hate myself the most, for letting you do this to me, overpowering me, taking advantage of me...but still...I liked it, maybe even loved it, but still knowing a father's love.. Never was suppose to go this far.
This is where the quote from earlier comes in. "Oh daddy, -harder-!" My vivid imagination is pulling up things I -really- would rather not see. Plus, if Tidus -had- gotten raped by Jecht when he was younger, he would be -terrified- of the man. Also, I would think there would be such a great deal of physical pain that "liking it" would be out of the question. X_X
Again, the first in 10..11 years you did this..I'm older now though, not as easily pained..I just lay back as you strip me of my clothing, not trying to think about it, now I feel your body against mine...and then.. I feel it, it hurts..bad..I squeeze my eyes shut, tears falling from the sides...After awhile you speed up, thrusting in faster, I hear a moan escape my throat, I really didn't want to do that..You leaned in and kissed me with passion, your tongue exploring my mouth as you pushed in faster, groaning through the kiss. I finally gave into the pleasure, I moaned, and thrashed and grabbed, pushing you in deeper, now loving how your filled me, a voice in the back of my head telling me I was a sick fucker, but I didn't care, right now it was just me and my father, having a bonding time. By now he was sobering up, becoming less slurred and more coherent. Our bodies were soaked with sweat as we came in unison, you kissed me gently, soothingly..I loved you, and not in the way a son should, but...we weren't really..that close..Were we..? You pull out of me and kiss me once more, then muttered something that made me wonder if you ment it...You said 'I love you', I replied, "I love you too" as we slowly drifted into a soundless sleep.

::Cracks knuckles:: Oh man. That was painful. Ok, first of all, despite the tearing of scar tissue, which would make this hurt like a bitch anyway, Jecht doesn't seem to use any kind of lotion or anything to prepare Tidus with. And the lube fairy isn't hovering around and distributing tubes of KY Jelly so far as I can see. So Tidus would be in a large amount of pain. That, and I think the words "bonding time" have been forever ruined for me because of this story. Also, the last time I checked, sex doesn't sober a person up. If it did, there would be far fewer nights of drunken passion in the world. Also, Tidus and Jecht's way of saying I love you seems to go like this.
Tidus: I hate you dad!
Jecht: You always cry!
Those two don't seem to be the type for mushy confessions of love if you ask me.
O.o I feel.. Sick.. And.. Dirty. ^_^; Oh well, I do suppose there's a time in a fic writer's life when they have to write something totally opposite of their sexual orientation. O.o; XD It was graphic too! Damn I'm good! Okie.. >> I'll go this way now. R&R....flames are not okay, constructive critisizem is good...just don't ask me if I was stoned when I wrote this cause I wasn't. Bastard O_o; *walks away*
Well I'm glad the author wasn't the only one who feels sick and dirty after reading this fic.
I think I need to go take a shower now...
