    Japan: 9/5/2008
    Hirakata, Osaka: September 05, Friday
         In the morning, we had another meeting to go to. *sigh* But I got to meet Hiroko, my conversation partner! She's nice. That's not a problem. We talk a LOT via e-mail, and communication seems fine. But... in person... I guess we both clam up or something? I tried several times to make conversation but she'd give short, noncommittal responses and just not say much...
         We ran into Haruka, a girl I met in the bathroom. XD She apparently told her friends about me, so when she eagerly introduced Hiroko and me to two of her friends, one of them went "Ah! TOIRE no DIRAN?" which is basically, "The Dylan from the bathroom?" because she misremembered my name as Dyran instead of Daryn. XD
         I checked my Japanese placement test and wanted to cry. I got into level 6-- I think there are 7 levels?-- and I can't handle that! WHAT THE HECK! So I was distraught.
         Just after that, I ran into Brittany, the girl who had her Japanese placement interview just before me. She handed me a slip of paper that said we got into the same class, and had little semi-chibis of us doing high-fives-- but her chibi is going "YAY!" with a beam, and mine is crying and going "IYA DA!" XD It fit us to a tee.
         At 2, we went to Kyoto, and Kiyomizu Temple. We didn't go inside, though, much as I really wanted to, because Ann was hungry and didn't want to go. -.- Which seems kind of problematic... she's a sweet girl, but she seems to often be the reason that more things, more fun, or going to more places doesn't happen. It's really, really frustrating.
         In Kyoto, Huey and I ran around taking a bunch of photos. She especially got shots of EVERYTHING. Since nobody else was particularly hungry except for Ann (... *sigh*), most of us ate desserts instead of meals. I had a milk crêpe, which was really tasty.
         The downside: Whenever I spend too much time around something that's really aesthetic to me-- like mountain scenery, or beautiful clothing (there were women wandering around in kimono and yukata, and there were various shops that sold kimono and yukata), I get really depressed.
         Afterward, we went to a shopping center in Kyoto called Sanjomeitengai. They had all sorts of fun punkloli clothes, as well as a Kinokuniya and, of course, a gazillion other shops. There was one shop that was just a maze of a bunch of different claw machines! That was cool.
         Ann was trying to get a certain plushie. It took her eleven tries, which is whatever because it's a huge plushie, but the cool thing was that the store clerk stood by and after several failed tries, he kept moving it closer and closer and closer. He did everything he could short of actually dropping the freaking thing into the slot for her. O_o Man. Talk about going overboard with customer service.
         Then we left, because once again, Ann didn't want to be out too late. *sigh*

    That's all I have time for right now, as I have to go to my Japanese class. Which scares the everything out of me. I can't understaaaand. T_T I want to drop down a level. T_T

Perhaps a stretch will be fun, especially with your friend at the same level.
Enjoying your adventure!

I'm all caught up on all the travels currently posted! :) Sucks that they placed you at a level that stresses you out. If it's as bad as you were thinking, maybe you should have a talk with the sensei or appropriate school worker about it? Ganbatte! I hope things work out!

Hihi honey! Ann seems to be one that shouldn't be brought out much. x.x; She goes to Japan but never wants to stay out late and keeps not wanting to do things? That's ridiculous. x.x;

But! Milk crepes sound tasty. Why do aesthetic things make you depressed???

And it's awesome that you scored that high, but sad that it'll add stress and be harder. X.x;;; Will they let you go down a level if you ask...?

Yeah... that's what I thought. But she really is a sweet kid.

Because... I don't know. XD They've always done that! Too much window-shopping depresses me. I think part of it is being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of visual beauty, and then the pettier part of it is craving that beauty but knowing I can't have it. ^_^;

We'll see.

Did you know that there's a second book to Strawberry chan? xD I hear it's more hilarious/crazy than the first. Haven't seen you update in a while, hope you're still doing okay. :)

I'm doing okay, more or less. Kind of. I keep needing to update, but it takes so long, and I have such finite time online. T_T;

*glomp* Yangpaaaaa~ I miss you. T.T;
