    Chapter Notes and Vocabulary

Line A - bimokushuurei, used in this context, is a combined word meaning "handsome(ness)". Bimoku used solely means "face, looks, features"; whereas shuurei means "graceful, beautiful" (other meanings include 'cool autumn weather' and 'week-old').

nado <-- et cetera; and the like

    iwareru <-- root
iwareteru <-- te-form, means in this context that it is a continuous action
iwaretemasu <-- polite form of iwareteru

da na = "desu" + masculine version of 'ne'
