CHARACTERS: Justin Finch-Fletchley and Susan Bones
    SETTING: Hufflepuff Common Room
    RATING: PG-13 for Angst! >O

Susan Bones: Susan sulked up to the common room slowly and muttered the password. She felt odd..she had just confessed to Justin her darkest secret and she wasn't sure if she should have. Susan stepped inside the Hufflepuff common room sinking down on the couch in front of the fire. The common room was empty since it was dinner time...she had lost her appetite and simply couldn't eat.

Justin Finch-Fletchley: Justin Finch-Fletchley was trotting up the three flights of stairs that led tot he Hufflepuff common room after a quick dinner. He had spend a long time in the shower thinking as the water fell down on him, and getting to the table late realized he didn't want much more than a dinner roll he could eat on his run up the stairs. He realized two things in the shower. One: he really wanted a girlfriend. He felt so weird and dumb without one, and even if Haylee had stepped on him, Susan liked him. She really liked him a lot, and as weird as that was he couldn't just let her go on believing he liked her unless he TRIED to like her a little more. Two: He had to study. He was therefore going to study with his mind still on Susan, and get to bed early for classes.

Susan Bones: Susan put her feet up on the couch and hugged her knees. She rested her head on her knees still gazing into the fire.. thinking. She had to finish homework..but right now she couldn't concentrate on homework, she couldn't even concentrate on new quidditch plays. Susan felt confused, but she guess it was normal...since she never told a guy that she had liked them before..guys usually told her. Susan drummed her fingers on the side of her leg. She couldn't think right..maybe what she needed was sleep, but she wasn't tired.

Justin Finch-Fletchley As Justin entered the Common Room he almost walked past Susan while drowned in his thoughts, but as he passed he realized it was her on the common room couch, and stopped. "Susan..." he said softly, feeling nervous and helpless. "Do you need to be chatted up?" he smiled playfully, tongue bent on his lower lip.

Susan Bones: Susan jumped a bit as she looked over to see who was talking to her..Justin..Great...Susan thought to herself. "Hmm.. no..I was just thinking.." Susan said truthfully. She would have liked to talk to Justin but for some reason she was scared. She felt butterflies building up in her stomach.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin frowned, "Are you sure you were just... of course you weren't thinking, you wouldn't tell a like would you?" He frowned and sat on the far end of the couch, looking off into the carpet. He threw his feet up on a nearby ottoman. "...and it isn't like you'd just be sitting here NOT thinking, you kind of have to think to breath and live." He let his babbles go silent.

Susan Bones: Susan looked at Justin blinking. "Ugh right.." Susan said looking back into the fire. "Well I was thinking..thinking about what I said to you and how stupid I was to say it." Susan said the last part in a lower voice.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justins eyes widened slightly, and he frowned. A bugger of a cold, heavey, greasy feeling settled in his stomach. He lowered his eyes and looked away then. "You're not stupid at all..." He paused.

Susan Bones: Susan looked up at Justin with a half smile. "But for some reason..I don't know I feel like I shouldn't have said it..I mean, you like Haylee and all..." Susan said trailing off. She was really beginning to despise Haylee even though she had barely even talked to her.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin still looked away, his eyes still low. He bit his lip and drew in a deep breath then. Did he like Haylee? He wasn't sure. He did in the past tense, but the present was all screwed up. He shouldn't have mentioned Haylee to Susan, even if it WAS the honest truth. Girls are silly. Justin was such a sod. "I... I don't know. I mean, even if I did like her she doesn't like me..." He clamped down on his bottom lip again, feeling very weak, and almost like he could cry as all his insecurities washed over him. Almost, mind you. "You know?"

Susan Bones: Susan nodded. "I guess..." Susan said in a low vioce as she turned her head back to the fire. "Well, I just don't really know what to feel..I'm just confused..with everything that is going on in my life..Quidditch, School, and well you.." Susan said trailing off. She now definately wished that she hadn't told him..she felt bad because if she felt confused then he must of felt confused himself. "I'm sorry I ever said anything." Susan said looking down..she felt her eyes water, but she wasn't going to cry in front of Justin there was just no way.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin looked over his other shoulder at Susan, lip still under teeth. "You don't have to feel sorry about it," he said sadly, feeling kind of defeated. "I think everybody gets confused, and I know that I'm confused, too... and it isn't that big of a deal, things will just have to get sorted out, right?" He paused, still feeling like a total screw up, a jerk, and everything in between. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you I fancied you back there. I probably should have."

Susan Bones: Susan nodded. "But things don't always get sorted out. Things are just so incomplete in life that there is no way you can fix them sometimes." Susan said finally looking back at Justin. "It's alright if you didn't tell me that you fancied me..I understand if you don't, but really that's the main point of me confusion..do you fancy me or not. I want to know the truth don't just say you do if you feel bad. Because if you did lying about something to make the person feel good for a few moments, but if you lie about your feelings then your only hurting that person more because your playing with their feelings." Susan whipped her eyes to avoid tears from falling. She looked away from Justin this point and down at the couch.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin was silent, even his breathing wasn't deep enough to make a noise. He closed his eyes. He didn't KNOW. How was he supposed to KNOW if he fancied a girl before he was close to her? He knew Susan was pretty and a good friend, but that couldn't be any sort of FANCY. When you fancied somebody you fell in love and got married. He leaned his head against his arm which laid on the arm rest. "I don't know... I..." He frowned. "I don't even know what fancying is!" he shouted softly.

Susan Bones: Susan closed her eyes. Her facial expression looked hurt. She kept quite not saying a word. "Ok then..I guess...go luck with Haylee..and you do know what fancying is if you fancied Haylee." Susan looked at Justin for a minute and got up from the couch. She wanted to go up to her dorm and cry do something..scream perhaps..she wasted all those years fancying him for well nothing. "I think i will go to my dorm." Susan said quietly as a tear fell from her eye she then started to walk towards the stairs to the girls' dorm.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin got up, feeling worthless. "I thought I already told you Haylee doesn't fancy me!" Those words were loud, and as he walked slowly after her he continued to babble, words getting softer and softer, "Though if you're tired of me already then fine, I'll go and accept that but it wasn't like I was trying to get rid of you or anything. I wanted to give you a chance but you're NEVER giving me a chance to try that and.." he broke his sentence to his thoughts.

Susan Bones: "I never gave you a chance? That's untrue!" Susan said loudly back at him. "Just because Haylee doesn't fancy you know doesn't mean that you can't change her feelings..peoples feelings change all the time Justin!" Susan shook her head. "Why am I even telling you this." Susan backed away from Justin and sunk to the floor covering her face with her hands and whipping away the few tears that have fallen.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin stood there, watching her fall and cry... and he stood there. Like a good old idiot he stood there as confused as ever, wanting right then to just walk off. He still wanted somebody in his life though, and the tearing conflicts of his heart and head were so confusing! "What do you want from me then?" His voice had gone back to sad instead of edgy and upset. "I thought you fancied me, and... why do you want me to make Haylee fancy me?"

Susan Bones: Susan looked up at Justin now more furious then ever."I do fancy you! But apparently it seems as if you don't feel the same way Justin..I know you will always have feelings for Haylee!" Susan said with anger rising in her voice. She had never gotten mad at Justin before, but there was a first time for everything. "You know..I really am sorry I ever said anything." Susan said more to herself then to Justin.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin smiled weakly, very weakly. "Don't worry about it." He felt his limbs weak, and he just wanted to do his homework and forget any of this, including Haylee, ever, ever happened. He sighed and ran the back of his finger across Susan's cheek. He let his finger fall.

Susan Bones: Susan smiled. She looked down at the floor for a moment then back up at Justin, her eyes still be teary. She then pulled Justin into a hug and rested her head on his chest. "I'm an aweful person aren't I?" Susan said quietly with her eyes closed at that point.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin wrapped his arms around her, feeling slightly better about himself, but still confused and helpless witht eh situation. "No, your'e not an awful person. You're a great person, you're just stressed out, arent yout?"

Susan Bones: Susan looked up at Justin. "Yeah I am..." Susan said in a quiet manner. "I .. I don't know what to think anymore. I feel like I need to scream..do something stupid to get all the frustration out of me..just something..." Susan said trailing off.

Justin Finch-Fletchley "Don't do anything stupid..." Justin said softly, brushing some hair away from her face. "It'll be okay..." He wanted to kiss her, but wasn't sure anymore.

Susan Bones: Susan smiled softly. "Thanks Justin." Susan looked down at the floor for a moment before looking back up. There really was nothing more to say. She took a deep breath and decided to keep quiet.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin leaned forward quickly and kissed her cheek once. The he did it again and forced a weak smile. "I have homework I should probably start on." He let his lips touch hers.

Susan Bones: Susan smiled as just kissed her twice on the cheek. "Alright." Susan nodded then Justin had done something she had not expected. She kissed her eyes lightly as their lips meet and she pulled away slowly with a smile on her face. "I..ugh.." Sus was speechless for once.

Justin Finch-Fletchley Justin smiled. "See you later," he said, backing away slowly, before kicking his heels and running to his Common Room.
