    A HARD DAY'S NIGHT (1964)
This film came out right at the start of the phenomenon called Beatlemania. There has never been a musical explosion like it. It was not just the Beatles. There were other bands in the British Invasion as well, the Beatles being the most famous, but they brought over a powerful youth culture which will affect the rest of the decade.

This is the beginning of the "generation gap." The parents of these kids fought in World War II. They built the modern world. They seemed to want to give their kids things they didn't have. They bought into the American Dream and often looked at things without questioning why. This is all going to change with the turbulence of the 1960s. No one had ever seen "kids" like this before. A HARD DAY'S NIGHT captures the world and youth at their most exuberant and most innocent. The Beatles are playful and all those screaming girls seem quaint and cute.

Kids would suddenly grow up very fast. Revolution and fighting in the streets are only a few years away. What are the things you notice about the era through watching this film?

This movie was so fun, if only I had ever heard of it before. It made me appreciate the Beatles more. I have never seen a reaction from an audience quite like that before at a concert. It isn't even close to that NOW, not at all. I can now see how much the generation changes just by music and the explosion of it. The scene gave a strong sense of no worries or cares, and fun and exciting life. How everyone was so happy and it seemed surreal. It doesn't seem like that could really happen. Things just aren't the same anymore.

The things that I noticed about the era by watching the film were the technology and how it wasn't that different from modern times except that everything was much older. Everyone had this good, carefree attitude and you can't get that now. You could communicate with people and it would just be in good fun and I compare that era to now and it's just not the same. I can't stop from rambling on about how different it was but not at the same time because after I thought about it, it came to my strong realization. Great, fun film. (Plus the music was good. ;p

I have watched this film long ago with my mother ( A HUGE BEATTLE FAN ! ) It is the only film i remember watching as a child. "A Hard Day's Night" is a pleasure watching because of the music. The difference about the era through watching this film was the outrageous fans which caught my eye instantly. they are running and screaming, crying even at the sight of the beattles. yes nowadays fans scream but not to the point of "insanity". I have not seen a reaction for such a group or person in my life or ever heard of n'sync does not even come close. the way they held an audience stood out.

The way they sung stands out because you hardly hear melodies like those played in the film nowadays. The tunes & tones. Especially the technology as mentioned by page the microphones and the low drums oh ya and the speakers at the sides nowadays they are all over the room stadium or whatever and they're 10 times as big now. this was a time of peace and a care free attitude. if i could pick an era to live in i would most definately pick the beatllemania era they seemed happy and laid back. You could definately see the difference between that era and now. it was clean lyrics unlike these days and they were dressed decent. The way they chose words are different and the humor too.

note to mr. L ( i was absent due to my son being sick but i did watch the movie as soon as you posted the movie & to my luck my mom still had the movie on the shelf. )

First of all, im a big Beatles fan. im not crazy like those girls on their concert but i really like their songs. So to the question, what i see in the era is that the adults get the boring jobs and they didnt really play a big role in the movie.i mean the adults were cops, managers, dancers, and other stuff. the Teenagers were running around and playing bands, chasing bands, screaming their lungs out, playing and other stuff. In this era the kids were had more fun than the adults. i felt like the kids were more free in the Beatles era.

another thing, the teenagers were shown really hyperactive and were not shy with each other. I remember the part were Ringo bump into that one kid and they just got along so good and they had their really deep talk. The adults in the movie really seemed to hate, gamble, drink, smoke and do other stuff in the movies. In the movie, The Beatles put the fun, rythem, beat on the teenagers life. The Beatles made the teenagers smile, cry, happy, laugh, and even scream jus by singing songs.

The place they were in, it looked so ruined. People were jacking other peoples car. i know it was after WWII. Building were destroyed, roads were being remade, and places were too small. I believe why so many teenagers loved the Beatles is because after all WWII, teenagers needed something to enjoy and make living better.

I actually liked this film. I thought it was creative, humorous and light-hearted movie. You can see that the Beatles were a famous young band due to all the screaming girl fans (some were even crying). The scene I liked most was the one at the beginning of the film, where all the fans were chasing them and one of the guys kept falling/tripping. This scene kin of set the tone for the whole movie. It was about this famous band of young, talented and mischievous boys. I also liked the scene of the Beatles running around and playing on the football field (or something like that). This shows that the Beatles are just regular boys fooling around with each other, kind of telling us “Boys will be boys.” They’re a playful, exuberant and energetic group.
To me it seems that each boy portrayed a different type of personality that existed in young men of the 60’s. Paul was the caring one, always asking about his grandfather and looking after him. John was the flirtatious clown, always flirting with the ladies/girls and always joking around and pissing the manager off. George seemed to be the skeptical one and think things through. And last but not least, Ringo was the lost one. He doesn’t know what he wants and feels out of place, like he was hanging out with the adults when the rest of the members were with the girls/ladies. So I thought that the falling/tripping in the beginning scene represented how Ringo felt about himself. He was also insecure and worried about his appearance because he had a big nose. You could tell it was the 60’s because of the different hairstyles, clothing, and equipments use in the studio.
Paul’s grandfather was symbolic of the past. He mentions that he fought in the war and is always using it to remind those that he is older and deserve special treatment. He’s sly and always gets away from those who are looking after him. He’s independent and “clean” (mentioned a lot in the film, but I don’t understand this meaning of clean). He talks about how life is full of the unexpected and how it’s over before you know it. I think Paul’s grandfather also represents the unexpected just like the events that occurred in the 60’s. Who knew that an old man could be so cunning and energetic? And who knew that someone would assassinate a great president such as JFK.
I thought that this film foreshadow the events to come in the 60’s. It seems like a golden age for music and the police force doesn’t seem to be very protective (ex: car robbing scene) and as you know “what goes up, must come back down.” This is after WWII so people are starting to be happy again and are almost done rebuilding and are now emerge in the idea that everything will be all right. So you can probably expect that bad things will happen to end this happy innocence, to balance the world.

Honestly, I didn’t really enjoy watching this film. I mean don’t get me wrong, the music was great and all and so were The Beatles, but I just didn’t really like the film. I think it’s mostly because there was no story line or anything. To me, this film was mostly a camera guy following the band everywhere, showing all of the wild girls in love with them screaming like crazy. I like films where something happens, whether it be dramatic, comical, terrifying, etc... This film did have some funny parts, like one or two, but other than that, I would have to say it was “ehh.” I wasn’t really satisfied at all. I expected something different when I heard The Beatles were going to be in it, but during the middle of the film, I lost interest.
Some things I noticed about this era by watching this film was how everything and everyone was so “happy-go-lucky.” I think that because The Beatles made music that was so jumpy and catchy, it kept teens' attitudes toward everything very happy and cheerful. Since this film was made after WWII, everyone tried to keep a positive outlook on life and people were starting to rebuild a lot of buildings, roads, etc... So it was somewhat like starting fresh. Also, the teens were more free and found ways to get entertained so easily. Everyone and everything was so pure, innocent and peaceful that it made that era so jolly.

To start off, i really enjoyed this movie. It was so fun, energetic, and free-spirited. To tell the truth, I had never really listened to, or paid attention to the Beatles, but, nevertheless, I really loved the music in the film. Like you mentioned Mr. Leibner, it was so innocent, not like anything nowadays. Most of the music you hear today is about sex, drugs, and all that good stuff. ;] This music was really innocent, upbeat and the teens those days had no problem with that, they loved it. So much, that they were ecstatic at the very sight of the Beatles. They would chase them down the streets and even cry at their shows. The Beatles were, no doubt, unlike any other music group before them, and even after them.

The thing that I automatically noticed in this film was that the children/teens were pretty much roaming the streets. It seemed as if the adults didn`t really matter in this era, like the teens were in charge. The adults and teens had a very carefree attitude about them like nothing in the world mattered. The Beatles` music also reflected this attitude. The four boys were always being mischievous, like the saying goes, "Boys will be boys." They were playful and they just liked to have fun, which set the mood for the movie and the whole era and "teen culture."

I think this film foreshadows the events to come because you mentioned in class that this was as innocent as the music would get, meaning, to me, that the music was gonna get more "depressing, I guess you could say, and so would the country. You can`t always be happy forever, and knowing that the JFK assassination was just around the corner for them, this happy-go-lucky attitude wouldn`t last long.

I really enoyed this film, especially the music. It kind of made me want to jump into the era in the film, so that I could be one more of those girls, screaming my heart out for the Beatles! One of the things I noticed about the 60s was that "kids" were very passionateabout and dependent on music. Music could have been thought of as a new way to communicate. The girls fell in love with the Beatles because of their songs, I mean by watching the movie, even I "fell in love" with the beatles by hearing their songs and watching how they played/sang their music.

It seemed that everything was kind, gentle, calm, and young. The 60s were nothing like today, and by watching this film, I wish I could have lived in the 60s, or that people and society, as a whole, today were how they were in the 60s, in particularly during the time of the film.

It feels as if the innocense in the modern era is almost completely gone; very different from how the 60s were. In the film, there seem to be no "big" problems, and everybody is happy and getting along. For example, when one of the Beatles were missing, the other three were not mad at him or anything, and they seemed happy that they could go on an "adventure" to find the missing Beatle. Today, if a member of a band were missing just before they were to perform, the other in the band would get mad, and they would question the missing one to the limit, and maybe even get into a verbal fight with them. When the Beatles were getting chased by the authorites, it looked like they were doing it for fun, and not like today when people run from the police; it is because they are in deep trouble.

This film definately helped me see some of the things that make the 60s very different from today. I am very excited to see what film we are going to watch next...

- First off, I would like to express my comments on A HARD DAY'S NIGHT. I thought the film was pretty good, a little boring at times, but it was alright. Also, at the beginning of the film and at certain parts, it was kind of hard to understand them when they were speaking. On the good side however, I really enjoyed the music and the comedy from the Beatles. I see why those young ladies were going wild at their concert. I really like how they used a real audience who weren't even acting. Their audience showed real reactions towards The Beatles as they played for them. I can also understand why the top 5 songs of this era all came from this one band. I mean, they're awesome.
- What I noticed about the era through watching this film is that it was pretty innocent. Throughout the entire film, there were clean humor, playful attitudes, kindness towards women, and patience towards the elderly. The guys from the Beatles seemed like innocent young boys, with all their little shenanigans and jokes they pulled. The men were complete gentlemen of this era, portrayed by Ringo Starr, as he used his coat to put over muddy puddles so that a lady wouldn't dirty her pumps. This era must have also taken good care of their elders because of how everyone took care of Paul McCartney's grandfather and tolerated his shenanigans as well. However, as JFK's assassination lurks around the corner, the innocence of this era would come to an end. Things aren't so sparkly and clean anymore. oh-well..
- Overall, I give this film **** out of *****. Thanks for showing this film Leibner.

I like many of the Beatles songs, they have good rhythm and their songs are meaningful. What I noticed about this era is that people looked like they worshiped the Beatles because they were new to them and different. The Beatles were young and upbeat and their songs were fun. Also, television was not around for that long during that time so people were more excited and intrigued by the Beatles live performances. These days, there are more music artists and television have been around for a while so it is probably not as exciting for fans these days than for the fans back in the old days. I notice fans get excited for their favorite music artists like on music award shows, but they don’t get hysterical by screaming or crying like they would do in the 1960s.

I also noticed the Beatles music were more limited because although they had good meaning to their songs, music these days go to the extreme. Music these days are more outspoken and raw. People can say about almost anything in their music now. Sexual images and words are emphasized more in today’s music generation where as the Beatles were classy and innocent looking. Another thing I noticed about that era was that fans could chase after celebrities everywhere without any serious consequences. These days, if even one fan follows a celebrity he or she could be labeled as a stalker and be placed in jail. The Beatles seemed to enjoy their celebrity and popularity lifestyle, they didn’t seem annoyed by their fans. However, today, most celebrities seemed to be annoyed by their fans, they are more private these days.

I really enjoyed watching this film even though it had no story line to it. I am not really a very HUGE fan of The Beatles, but I always liked their music since my parents are a fan of them, but watching this movie helped me appreciate them a little more. After watching this movie I felt I had to keep on listening to The Beatles because there music is mostly happy and free of your "every-day} problems. Throughout the whole movie, there weren't really any problems, they were mostly care-free and living life how they wanted it.

What I liked about this movie was how The Beatles and everyone else had "innocent" minds. They didn't go around taking drugs, having sex with all different kinds of girls, or all the other things that mostly every band or singers usually do now. We see how The Beatles enjoy singing to their fans and what they do for fun. We also see how they also don't get the freedom they want since they're very popular and the girls go insane when they see a glance of them. In the movie, when the "grandfather" tells one of the members from The Beatles to go out and have fun, the others start to worry a little since they can't find him and look for him. They werent really worried, because they knew nothing bad was going to happen to them. Once they found him they went back to perform and make their fans happy once more. Their music was "clean" and mostly about love and how great life was without using any explicit words that would cause any kind of controversy.

The ending was my most favorite part of the movie. I liked how the whole crowd just went into that trance of singing, screaming, crying, smiling, etc. when seeing The Beatles perform. People didn't need any kind of "substance" to get them into that HAPPY feeling. All they had to do was listen to their music and feel the vibe of everyone else to have a great time.

It's crazy how war and revolution can corrupt the minds of many people in just a matter of a second.

The things I've noticed about A HARD DAY'S NIGHT is, instead of just having background music during a scene, there was a scene inparticular that had The Beatles performing it. This scene was when the grandfather was with the dogs and the boys came in. They were playing cards at first and the cards disappeared. In replace of that were instruments and they started to sing. I thought that was interesting because once the song ended, the instruments disappeared and the cards appeared. I don't think I see this any more and I thought that was interesting. Another thing I've noticed is the innocence. There really is no violence. The Beatles didn't complain and become jerks to the stage coordinator, like in other movies, where the artists or actors give so much attitude. When the grandfather also escaped from the police station, the policemen just said that he forgot his pictures and tried to run after to give it. Usually, they'd run to try to catch him. Also, they didn't put handcuffs on him. They just told him to sit down, giving him the chance to escape. There was no other trouble besides that. The women were not extremely exposed either. Even when it came down to their hairstyles, it was innocent. They didn't go wild with spikes or mohawks or anything. They did it simple. I also noticed that they asked for fashion advice, such as if they believed their hairstyled will be caught on by other boys in the United States, or what the next season outfits would be and if it would be nice. Just because they're not famous, I think it's interesting that everyone wants to listen to them, and wants their opinion.

I really enjoyed this film singing and dancing in my seat the whole movie, and like I would see people falling asleep near me *cough* *cough* I wont say who but yea and I ask myself, how can people fall asleep during the Beatles? They are the best band from the 60’s. My dad knows their music and its weird because he came to the United States in the 70’s. I saw the huge difference between the adults and the children. In my AP US History class we are learning about the world wars and I notice the difference in the way they dress and the music they listen to. Like in the movie swing kids, we see a huge difference between the adults and the young adults. The Beatles truly did start a trend between the young adults. We saw how the young girls and boys would scream and run after the four Beatles, Ringo, George, John and Paul. The boys truly had the time of their lives, living life on the edge therefore all the other young adults wanting to be like them. They were great role models and handsome too.

I thought this movie was very playful and entertaining. I didn't know the Beatles that much. I knew they were famous; however, I wasn't familiar with their personalities. I never knew they were like that. I thought all the stuff they said and do in the movie were funny. I enjoyed the music in the film and their liveliness through out the whole movie.

The first scenes of the movie was a good introduction because it pretty much gave a sample of the movie. The playfulness and chasing and the falling were all funny and was just an introduction to what we were going to see through out the movie. You could tell that the adults didn’t really take the Beatles seriously because they were young and free-spirited.

The things I noticed was that the older people kept trying to order them around. Also, that music director, or the man who was waiting for the Beatles to shoot their music video, treated the Beatles rudely or just treated them as if they were not going to follow instructions, but the Beatles actually did arrive on time and shoots the video smoothly. This movie portrayed the Beatles as delinquents and just kids having fun. They seemed so free-spirited while the grown-ups are serious and stiff. That was a thing I noticed.

Another thing I found strange and funny was that the police were only chasing the Beatles when there’s a man trying to steal the car and then a police asks him to follow them. That was funny. By that scene, you can truly understand the Beatles’ affect on the world. I think since this was during the when the generation gap occurred; the Beatles were probably rebelling or just having fun to irritate the adults, like what I said earlier.

I think their hyper activeness reflected the era of the 60s. The enjoyment, the fun, and the rebelling all reflected upon the era of the 60s. I think also, the fact that the Beatles had a big influence on the world of music has a relation to the other fact that during the time all the things that were going on during the era of the 60s also influenced the world of society. I can understand now how and why they were a big hit.

This film was so up-beat and entertaining! I must admit that at times the movie got boring due to the lack of storyline, but the whole point was that these people were happy, and entirely carefree! it is so sad that all of this happiness and joy will come to an ubrupt end in a few years when the vietnam war hits. I feel like this is a sort of happiness that we can never have again, or at least us as teens can experience, since we are in the middle of a war ourselves. These teenage girls had time to run around and chase after the Beatles, and basically stalk them. Now, teenagers are stuck at home, doing their AP homework or at the local community college, trying to get ahead. We are so focused on making ourselves competitive for colleges, and stressing out over the SAT's and getting our college acceptance letters. Times have totally changed, and some of it is for the better, but everyone deserves to be happy, but in the reality of how life is now for teenagers, happiness is something that is sacrificed in order to reach their main goal, which is getting accepted into college.

The Beatles seemed like innocent individuals, the worse thing that they did was smoke, but i couldnt see them trying to take advantage of all of their young female fans like some entertainers do today. Instead, their focus was to bring music to the people- upbeat, energetic, happy music. I only know a few of their songs, but the beat was so catching, and during their concert at the end of the movie, I found myself tapping my feet to the beat! I saw you getting into it to Mr. Leibner! Those girls got so crazy, with all of their crying and pulling their hair out. I thought that was extreme but hilarious! Overall, this movie was really cute.

I think as the movie progresses you start to notice how the American culture starts to become obsessed with the celebrity. This somehow parallels how we as a society are today, obsessing over the downfalls and triumphs of our favorite stars. You also begin to notice how rock stars groups begin to emerge and become household names. I didn’t really understand the plot of the movie, maybe there was no plot at all. It didn’t really seem to catch much attention because the film lacked a plot. I must admit much to my dislike of the film, you can never get enough of the Beatles, and it was good to see good ‘ol Lennon pre-Yoko.

My favorite part of the movie was the end where the band was playing, because it reminded me of American Bandstand with Dick Clark. This film was big at its time and probably still plays a great part today, seeing that you don’t get to see performances like that anymore.

From beginning to end this film was really good. You really get to see how light hearted and easy going the beginning of the 60s were. Everybody seemed to be more care free back then espically the Beatles themselves. Even though they dressed the same each of the Beatles had a different personalitie from each other but at the same time they were also the same bacause when it came right down to it they all just wanted to have fun. It seemed like that was true for most of the younger generation in the film but the adults seemed to be more stressed. Except for the grandfather all of the adults were worried about something or other. The film also shows how people used to be a lot more devoted then they are now to things they like. This was seen at the beginning of the film when the Beatles were being chased all over the place and then at the end when their fans were screaming and crying at their concert. It seemed like most the girls and even some boys would die of happiness because they had just seen their favorite band sing. Maybe it was just that younger people didn't have that much to worry about back then or they might just have been more enthusiastic but it seemed like they were able to come by more moments of pure happiness. This film also shows how even in the 60s trends were being set by older people who had no connection to the younger generations. This was shown when the one of the Beatles was offered the opportunity to advertise for a shirt. His rejection to the offer makes me wonder if the Beatles might have set the stage for the rebelling of anything mainstream. In this time there are still people who follow the latest fashions but there are a lot of people who decide to go for their own style.

I liked this movie, this was much better than the Sadist. This was the first time i had ever listened to the beatles. I thought that there music wouldn't be that great but i was wrong. I had heard about the beatles but i wasn't that interested in the songs because i thought the songs might be alittle boring. One of the difference between the songs during that time and the songs during our time is that they didn't curse in their songs. They didn't talk about girls, sex, and other bad things. It was very funny to see all those girls screaming and crying over the beatles.

I didn't expect them to act like kids and play pranks at people. I thought that they probably concentrated on their music but it turned out that they did whatever they thought was right. They didn't care about getting into trouble. Each guy had their own way of thinking to do things. It seemed as they didn't want to be tied down because they were famous. At some scenes it showed how close all four of them were.

One of the scenes that i really liked was when one of they guy went out and took picture of different things and he had saw a girl. He took his sweater and put it on the floor so the girl wouldn't step on the mud. And when he didit the third time she actually fell in a hole. That scene was so funny, i couldn't stop laughing.

It seemed as the kid during that time had lots of fun times. They didn't seemed to be worried about anything. Seeing the people walk around the street made it seem that they had a normal life. Its hard to believe that this was made after World War II because it seemed like everyone was in a cheerful mood. Some of the kids would hang out with their friends since they didn't go to school. But it didn't seem that they were sad because they didn't go to school.

The things I noticed from watching this film about the era was how joyful the world was. It seemed like everyone was happy and music was inspiring them to have a good time anywhere and everywhere. During that era was when the World war had come to an end and everything that was once in chaos was returning to its original state. I liked this film because it was like no other film done by other artist or band. It was like a day in the life of the beatles which basically followed them around until the day of theri performance.
I also noticed that in that era girls were going wildly insane for the beatles. I was shocked to see how they reacted when the beatles were around. The dancing was also a big diffrence in that era from our modern day dancing. The music the beaqtles produced was another huge diffrence in that era because it ws hip and talked about love and no about sex, drugs, bitches and other foul stuff said in the music played today. I really wished we had an era like the one they had during the times of the beatles because it seeemed so cool and it seemed as if there was nothing to worry about and having fun was a very common thing to do.

Overall I thought “A Hard Day’s Night” was an okay movie. I found some parts interesting and some part boring. I personally thought that Paul’s grandfather was weird to the point that it bothered me. My favorite part of the film was when they sang the song when they were playing cards. I thought it had a classy style to it that I felt the other scene lack. When Paul joined his grandfather in the storage part of the train with the rest of the guys and started to play cards it gave a sense of unity and let us see the bonds that each member shared with one another.

The things I notice about the 60’s through watching this film was that it was new to the music sensation. It was obvious from the insane screaming of the female fans. Another thing I notice about the 60’s through this film was that they don’t have a casual style of clothing as we do today. I also noticed that they still use sugar jars instead of sugar packets in various color and brands. Another thing I noticed was that the cops weren’t really great cops, they couldn’t even catch an old man and they also wore hats, which most cops today do not wear.

This movie, i liked a lot, maybe because im a beatles fan, their songs are so catchy and easy to like, so this film was just a plus because i actually saw the band's personality, which i have never seen before. Im used to listenning to their music but never really know how they are in their actions. This movie showed me that i was wrong on certain things simply because i really didnt know, i just assumed. For example, i imagined john lennon to be this gloomy guy, like dark, serious and this movie showed me otherwise. He is really a goofy, happy go lucky guy that likes to joke around with his peers, and i really didn't know the other two, meaning ringo and the other beatle, sorry i dont remember, i only know paul, john, and ringo.. But they focused on him a lot (Ringo) which is interesting because from my perspective, i thought the popular ones were just joh and paul.. but this film showed ringo was loved by the gurls and the fans maybe even more than the two mentioned. An example of that was with the amount of mail he received,..lotz. But what i noticed about this era thru watching this film is that, it showed a very light happy perspective. LIke there were no problems in the world. And the songs of the beatles just kinda coated it all because they were happy and lively songs. It shows that the kids had a lot of power and influence because of their massive impact. ALso this film showed that the screaming girls(fans) showed a lot of liberation and nonconservativeness, that i thought would be in those days, its amazing how music and realease your inhibitions. BEatlemania, until this day they are still beloved by many. That is one amazing remarkable time, i can't imagine that happening now, its once in a lifetime thing i guess. The effects of those times, is shown today, how the kids grow up faster and faster, thru media and everything around us. younger is better, some say. and it all started from the 60's beatles influence.

i thought the movie a had a lot of insight for what it must be like for popular groups or popular actors/actresses who do get bombarded like the beatles did except for the fact that the bar that the beatles has had on culture has yet to be reach and i don't think it will be reached for a very long long time, i also liked the humor that is used in the movie. seeing this movie made me have more respect for the beatles for what they were doing, they weren't just being musicians and only doing music, they did movies and also expanded their musical boundries and pushed music into new territory they created music that matters and has undertones that have some significence today.
The Beatles to this day regardless what anyone thinks or denies it but they have one of the biggest influences in music (regardless if it shows in current times) and in fashion in modern culture the steps or degree of influence can definitely be traced to the beatles as well as anything that was inspired or influence from the beatles, they are TRUE Legenary Figures of the past century and i couldn't imagine a world without them when i truely think about it.

I really enjoyed this film although it was hard for me to understand what they were saying in the beginning and it did kind of drag a bit towards the middle, but it was still good. It almost made me wish I were alive during "Beatlemania" the atmosphere was so different. People looked a lot less stressed. Everyone was so innocent. The humor was clean, family friendly humor. Not like now days where children’s movies have all these innuendos. It’s amazing how much music can influence an individual’s life. Those girls were absolutely CRAZY about the Beatles. They would chase them down in subway stations and streets. They cried while watching them perform. It was insane. I loved the way the guys could have fun in every situation. They were very mischievous, but still in a sense responsible, and polite. For example when they were going to be on live television, they decided to go out the fire escape instead and ran around on a field. They apologized to the property's owner after they got caught and still managed to show up on time for their performance. None of them thought they were any better then the rest. Like when Ringo is feeling unappreciated and disappears, they all drop what they are doing to go find him. When they finally do find him, they don’t yell or get mad; they just simply go on as if nothing happened. Over all I really enjoyed this movie, and plan on making it part of my own collection. Oh and the music was great of course!

I thought this move was really funny. I really liked the songs that the Beatles sang. I had no idea how much of a big hit they were especially seeing all their screaming fans chasing them from beginning until the end of the movie. I like how they Beatles were very lively and fun. I'm exactly like them. I like to run around and do crazy things.

The things I noticed was that the adults always kept trying to keep the Beatles from doing what they wanted to do. When they wanted to do something fun, an adult would always try to stop them from having their fun. I think it's interesting how you said that the teenagers built the modern world. How we shaped our community. I can really see the realtionhip of this movie with the era of the 60s: the craziness, the liveliness, the rebelling.

Also, I noticed that the teenagers here were really independent, because of their parents going to WWII. That's probably why the teenagers were just walking down the streets and just doing what they want. Well overall, I thought this was a good movie. I love the songs they sang in the movie.

What I leaned about the ara thru this film is that the teenagers seemed happy and stress free. It's like they were still able to be kids, not really worried about much. I enjoyed this film because it was free of physical fights and everything seemed so simple and easy to resolve, it was a like a breath of fresh air, compared to these modern films that are full of violence and excesive drama and bad jokes.

I loved the beginning of the movie. With all the chasing and throughout the film I loved when they played and how he kept falling, it shows that they were like normal carefree teenagers that like to have fun and want to be independant in a time when they should be a little more worried about work. I guess something never change...

I noticed that they were like teenagers now, there are some things that they wouldn't be caught wearing, for some reason that is something i thought had developed in recent years, and that they can talk to practically anyone anywhere like they were friends or old aquaintances with assertiveness.

Overall I loved the movie, like i said before it was like a breath of fresh air. It wasn't as intense, and I like movies like that. I wish there were still making made like that, well at least I haven't really watch anything like that so far, and I watch a lot of TV.

When the Beatles arrived on the music scene they brought with them never before seen fashion, music, and a sense of identity for the American adolescent. It was pretty funny how ridiculously happy everyone looked, there wasn’t one scene without someone smiling enthusiastically. The Beatles were an absolute phenomenon the fans were almost bloodthirsty as they pursued the pop group through venues throughout their tour.

It was hilarious that whenever they arrived at a new venue they would have to construct distraction so that they weren’t bombarded with fans, like the tent they used to get from their car to the door of the hotel.

The music made the movie very enjoyable. The screaming girls at the end were very humorous as well.

Only the greatest rock band in history could pull off a movie like this. "A Hard Day's Night" feels like a rockumentary, the music of the Beatles was the driving force of the motion picture. The movie was scripted with occasional improvising and there were some pretty funny scenes, however the acting, the little drama, and the story line were not so great. Usually good movies have an interesting plot and conflict, but since it's Paul, George, Ringo, and John it's good enough.
There is a feeling of freedom and rebellion in the air throughout the movie. Whenever there was some kind of authoritative figure, like the manager or the television director the Beatles would not listen and they would try to escape. The scene where they got away in the fire escape to the fields where they ran free is an ideal reflection of what the youth in America wanted, and forshadowed the times to come (youth power).
The best parts of the movie was the music and the wild fans. It suprises me to see how crazy the fans were running after them like wild animals, crying, and yelling at the top of there lungs to their favorite Beatle. I don't think any fan group nowadays can match the kind of enegy.

I thought this film was very funny and outgoing! You have an era were the films had no color but were brought alive by its music and actors. In this film, it seems at first like it has no storyline because of its changing and crazy scenes, but at the end you get this message of what music created for this era of the 6070's.What i notice on this movie was how much MUSIC had an impact on the world and especially fans! that had passion for this singers..know as the beatles. You have this famous band that seems to love the paparazzi and the attention they receive..they are not bother at all by it but actually makes them feel loved .It also showed tv shows tried to make $$ by getting s band to play live and have it shown in t.v. To my knowledge we still have this going on today for the industrty of entertainment!I also noticed that fans were really intp the beatles..that they ran after them and follo wtheir every move..something thats you CANT compare to todays fan at all because of security reason .In the film you see how teenagers realease their crazyness and feelings! their so touch and moved by the music. I really enjoed it..because you hardly ever see this kinds of things! The movie just gave a touch of what it was like to be famous popular singer during this era and see MUSIC expand in the future years to come..=D

This was a great film which demonstrated the uprising of the teenage culture. I have always been a beatles fan; my aunt which at the time was one of those crazy teenage fanatics was a strong influence. Teens never really had an identity until they developed expressing themselves through music, fashion, & trends. This is where the beatles step in.

I once asked my aunt what as so great about the beatles and she replied, “what isn’t great about the beatles?” at first I was confused. Until now, the film has finally helped me understand the amazement about the beatles. Their a ground-breaking band very different from past entertainers. And their humorous personalities made the audiences fall in love with them.

If I were to have been alive during that era, I to would have been one of those girls that went nuts over the beatles…they’re awesome!

First of all i got to say it was a good film!I believe I have never seen a movie like this. It was my first time seeing this movie and at first i thought it was boring. But then i actually got to pay attention to it. What i like the most was the end i believe. This was just a unique movie that i can't compare to any other famous people i have seen before. It it just amazing how they captured everyones eyes with their songs and even the guys. The things that I knotice about the era through watching this film it that the way the girls would turn all wild and crazy. Even then boys i remember seeing in the video turn all crazy for them aswell. But what caught my eyes the most it the way they were powerful because of their music! As soon as they would play or be out the girls would turn crazy, Jumping, crying, but to me it was just a feeling that i never felt before. I wish i was in those times so i could have actually experience it just how they experince it!
Good movie! I also like the way they film this movie. The way the would have the guys all they would live of is traveling, singing and being home. Or When they would leave they would but their music and them getting ready to leave for their fans

The things I noticed in this film was the way the teenagers spent their days. Their days consisted of going out, having fun, listening to music. They were basically carefree and they didn't waste their time getting mad. The teenagers loved the Beatles because it gave them something to take their mind off everything that was being rebuilt. To them, the Beatles may have represented hope and seeing the Beatles carefree made them carefree as well. They idolized the Beatles like how every famous band/singer/actor/etc. are idolized. For example, when one of the Beatles showed up late, the others didn't mind just as long as they got to perform. But if that were to happen now, the performer would be penalized. The Beatles were also open-minded and were willing to meet other people. For example, when Paul brought his "grandfather" onto the subway, the other Beatles just asked who he was. When Paul explained that it was his grandfather, the other Beatles treated him as if he were an old friend. It seems like during this time, the Beatles brought hope to the teenagers who had nothing else to turn to. Since the gap between parents and their children started to escalate, the parents were working trying to make money and keep their mind off WWII.

If you were to compare this era to modern time, things have drastically changed. For example, if teenagers were seen gallavanting the streets at night the police would suspect them of being gang-related. As for the teenagers that don't go out much, they can usually be found at home doing their homework trying to ensure that they have a bright future ahead of them. This is because without education, they won't be able to make money and they'll live life miserably. Our era now is about money, because without money one cannot live "happy." But then again, our happiness is on the line. What I realized was that the happiness from the 60s will never be duplicated in our time due to the many rules and regulations that we now have to follow due to how corrupt everything is. I believe the only thing that will stay somewhat the same between now and the 60s is the communication gap between adults and teenagers. Because even to this very day, teenagers still have a hard time maintaining a healthy relationship wil their parents-- this I believe will be hard to change because it has been around for a very long time.

I really really really really loved this film. One thing i really liked about it was that it was really happy and carefree Nowadays everyone is stressed out about everything. I havent seen a movie happier than this one. It was all about having fun and playing music, no real plot to it. Most of the films now aren't this happy, even G rated movies. One thing i noticed about the era is that if you were a war you were to be respected as if you were a great war hero, now it's not really like that. people that come home safe are pretty much just congradulated on being alive, they arent really respected as they were before.

another thing i noticed was how obsessed people were with the beatles. i dont think there is anyother band that has ever had many many people chase after them.. except maybe the jackson 5. it's crazy.

Personally this film I didn't find any interest to because to me it was just the Beatles using a movie just to get more publicity. Beatles was truly a film that captivated the world because the fame of the Beatles brought the innocent and youth back to the era of the 1960s. To me it may have seen pointless but it portrayed the lives of the Beatles of their fame and glory.
