Looking back over the term, what are your overall thoughts towards this class? What did you feel you got out of this class (if anything at all)? What did you like best about it? What did you like least? Did you like the film selections? Suggestions?
What else do you think Mr. Leibner needs to know?

i feel that the class was a good class. What i got from the class was a sense of history and learning from history through films that we've watched. Except for a couple of films the class was pretty good, it was towards the mid part of the class that showed that one film, dat kinda turned me off. But i guess that's why the title of the class is The most provocative movies from the 60's 70's right. What i think of Mr.Leibner is that he's kinda like Mac from the movie we've seen recently, hahaha, he's willing to push the limits, just to show a different perspective, have the students think a lil bit uncomfortably, but you can learn from it or just get turned off. So its up to the student. (Reply to this) (Thread) |

overall i really enjoyed this class. Sometimes the movies go boring but i never fell asleep during the movies. i learned alot about history and our past and how films have changed. i didnt really like the fridays because we didnt do much. i did like the film selections, they were very different from what i am used to watching.

i actually enjoyed taking this class, although some films were kind of on the boring side. i actually learned how to be more of a "movie watcher" and learned a lot of things about films i've never seen. i even saw some films i actually wanted to see, finally. what i liked best about this film class was how there was a variety of films. i mean, there was a specific theme, but it wasn't all black & white films. there was color, action, weird films, etc. i liked the soundtracks to the films as well. i think mr. leibner needs to know that he needs to keep on doing what he does, because he's doing a great job! :) (Reply to this) (Thread) |

I liked some of the movies shown and disliked others. Some were too slow and confusing, but I like the meaning in some of the films that were shown. Most of all, I enjoyed the lectures more than the movies because that was what made me look at the movies differently. Also, the lectures were based on real life not just from textbooks. This was a unique class and the atmosphere of the class was very enjoyable. I found the class very meaningful. Thanks. (Reply to this) (Thread) |

I liked this class. It didn't seem like a class; it was simply a time in which I watched films that I wouldn't have watched any other days because i would be doing other things. I learned how films of the 60s and 70s differ from the ones from today and how films can truely reflect the time periods in which they are made.. I have to admit I didn't enjoy wtching some of the films, but overall liked the class and I am glad I took it. I really liked Fridays when we discussed the films and things that were confusing got cleared up. (Reply to this) (Thread) |

i remember how you said that if a movie takes place in the past, its not about the time period that it takes place in, rather it reflects the time period that it was made. i found that to be very interesting. i thought your lectures were the best mr. leibner, because you helped me to view the movies in a different perspective. i think people watch movies just to watch them and all anyone can remember is the ending, but we never try to analyze all the small things that occur from beginning to end. you made me aware of the fact that film makers do everything for a specific reason, and its our job to figure out what the reason is. im not going to lie...i did fall asleep for a short period of time during a few movies, but of the movies that i watched all of the way through, i did enjoy them. of course, some of the movies were boring, but hey, you cant like EVERYTHING. i just wish that the seats in the OAR werent so damn uncomfortable. but that's beyond your control. thanks for having such an interesting class! :] (Reply to this) (Thread) |

I can't believe this class is over already! It went by quick. Well, quicker than the college class I took first semester. That was probably because the college class I took first semester was boring and BLEHH... hahah. I liked this class. It wasn't at all difficult. I liked some of the movies we watched and I disliked the others. Some of the films were boring. I was thinking about what to say about the lectures on Fridays. It probably seemed that I wasn’t paying attention, but I was. Haha. I think that the lectures were needed and necessary to have and you learn a lot from them. You point out the things in the movies that I would have never figured out or noticed. You also make life connections with the films that we've seen. I like how you weren't afraid to really say some things that would make us uncomfortable—say and SHOW, I mean. Some of the films we saw were pretty sick, but we learned to exit our comfort zones. This was a good experience and a good guide or introduction to life, or the real world. To you, Mr. Leibner, I don’t know what else to suggest or advise to you because you’re doing a pretty good job already. :D (Reply to this) (Thread) |

I enjoyed the classroom because we got to watch films, that they never tell you about, also films that are beyond our time and recognition. You're going outside the box and not to mention "age" to give us a taste of "good" films.

Starting from the very beginning and the day when I attended class, I knew that this class would be an experience and it was. I really enjoyed this class. I have watched so many interesting movies and I was really impressed because they were movies from the 60s and 70s and usually I won't watch older movies. My overall favorite part of the class were the discussions that we held every Friday because they were thought provoking, not just about the film but about life and humanity. What I got out of it was a personal mental library of films that have impact on society even today and directors who I haven't heard of before. There werent anything that i liked the least because it was a balanced class, I was never disinterested. I thought all of the films were good overall and I was happy because some of those films are my favorites even before the class. No suggestions. Thanks Mr. Leibner! I loved this class...=)(Reply to this) (Thread) |

I liked this classes very much and i am dissapointed we had little time. I feel like i got to view many movies in anew perspective and understand why many of them were done at a certain time period. I like most of the movies we saw but there were a few that were not that intresting but overall the movies were great. (Reply to this) (Thread) |

I really liked the class. It was fun and was probably one of the best classes i've taken. It really did get me thinking about different things and now while I am watching a movie I analyze the sound effects and camera angles. What I liked the most was that sometimes I forgot it was class. We got to watch great movies and discuss them. It was a really fun experience. I don't think I disliked anything,it was such a cool class and the atmosphere was really laid back. I thought that this class was cool because it provided different types of films for different people with different tastes. I didn't notice that you took role in the class a lot so I thought that you should have taken role more often and that it should have influenced more greatly class so that the people that actually took the effort to go to class most of the time and pay attention could be rewarded for their effort. This class was pretty cool. I mean who doesn't like to watch movies. The movies we watched were kind of wired which was good but still weird. The questions that you asked made me really think about what the movie was about, which I usually don't do. When i watch a movie I don't give it deep thinking. It was justw hatever for me, but know I appreciate movies more thanks to your class. I didn't like to do the blkurties because soemtimes I couldn;t remeber parts of it, so i was kind of difficult for me. I thought the Graduate was funny, and i also enjoyed A HArd DAys NIght. Hello Mr. Leibner, I left two voice mails in your message box at Carson High School about my grades but didn't get a response. Sorry to rush you, but I really need my grade to be posted asap on-line at the Harbor website because I had applied to CSULB for Fall 2007 and the deadline is very near to submit my transcript for Spring 2007. I have received all of my grades from my other classes and this is the only class that I need a grade for before the Los Angeles Harbor College can release my transcript to CSULB. I don't know any other way to contact you and that is why I am posting my message here. PLEASE hurry because they CSULB will not accept me if I do not submit my transcript before the deadline. Thank you.
