Big yellow middle
If you looked closely
Was powdery
Grains
Of artificial sunlight.

A daisy--
Spotless petals.
White
That made you think of ironed clothes
And the laundry
And the blouse
With golden buttons
You only wear for special occasions.

looking so young, so smug.
Seeming so full
Of artifical sunlight
Artificial something.

For some reason
It seemed flirtatious
With all its bright color
And showiness.
Popping up everywhere
In huge bunches.
