My idea of Self Help

1. I am not a lawyer

2. I am just sharing experience

3. My advise is by no means legal advise. I'm just building awareness. If you want Legal advise in the strict sense of the word, please hire a lawyer

4. My definition of Self help means and includes

4.1. You are ready to share your case history with me

4.2. You do NOT hide pertinent facts from me. You are free NOT to trust me, but once you start asking questions and seeking help from me, it is important that you trust me. If you don't and end up giving me only half the facts, that will just send the two of us on a wild goose chase

4.3. You should read and understand the law. Use some good commentaries available in the market. You will have to invest in books and law journals. In my opinion this is the best way to fight false dowry cases. Awareness, awareness and awareness is MORE than half the cure in these cases

4.4. Self help also means you MAY NOT get ready made answers. Honestly, IMHO, there are VERY FEW ready made answers or thumb rules in Marriage and Divorce cases. The situations and hence the solutions differ case to case. The situations may also change based on changes in your life

4.5. Normally I write detailed questions to victims. Many a time, I get back one or two word answers and a request for DETAILED help !!. That really irritates me. Please note that I am doing this as a public service and hence expect you to be responsible and responsive enough

4.5. Limit your expectations : I am NOT some cinema hero who will enter the court room with aplomb and have fist fights with the villain :-). Unfortunately the biggest villains in these cases are our own beloved wife and in laws. All that I can give you is advise and counseling

5. The reason I state this, once you have understood the concept of self help, it makes it easy to proceed further.
