CAT 2012 Preparation Tips | How to Crack CAT Exam 2012 | Important Dates
The Common Admission Test (CAT) committee has announced the dates of the test to be conducted soon this year. CAT 2012, coordinated by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode, on behalf of 12 other IIMs and other participating institutes in the examination, will be a 27-day affair starting from October 11, 2012 and concluding on November 6, 2012.

The preparation level of all the candidates would not be the same. While some have just started, some are taking mock tests. One the other hand, some aspirants have to juggle work, some have to juggle studies with CAT preparation.

Studying the cat can be a strenuous task for some, but with proper planning and execution, we can get the smooth ride and successful. A good way to start your preparation of the study is to understand where you stand on the areas to be tested, and what must be done to improve your skills that match the bar.

The ideal way to start preparing for any exam is by taking a diagnostic test. This diagnostic test should ideally be of similar type as the previous CAT exam. You may take the test online/offline.

There are three levels of preparation that are required to crack the CAT 2012.

    • Knowledge

    • Exam Strategy

    • Confidence

Some suggestions for research that may be useful for the preparation are listed here:

    • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension: Keep in mind that the CAT tests your ability to Standard English. Get a strong vocabulary, the use of English, grammar and verbal reasoning, be sure to work with various questionnaires CAT previous issues.

    • Data Interpretation and Logical Ability: Be strong in the basics of mathematics, this will help you with quickly getting to the answers, rather than spending laborious time for calculation. Again as mentioned, work on sample question papers from the previous year CAT exam.

    • Quantitative Aptitude: The work of the basic concepts of mathematics learning in school books CBSE. Receive CAT questionnaires before and start working with them. Having a record of how you are doing in different areas including, but not limited to algebra, arithmetic, geometry, probability, permutation and combination, work problems, etc.

    • Entangle Yourself: May well be lost in the preparation of CAT and cowardly attention. Beware of getting involved with the other candidates, who are preparing for CAT Exam.
