Lieutenant (jg) Gerzon Trep, Chief Operations Officer's Duty Log
    =/\= Congo,1907, a clearing in the jungle =/\=

The wind was blowing through the clearing, stirring up some leaves on the jublge floor. In front of him, were several savage and brutal looking Sugna warriors. Gers was happy. He had gotten hope again when he had approached the Sugna warriors. Gers stepped forward and held out his hand to shake. The Sugna warrior was doubting if he would have to take it. Gers just hoped he would get his hand back in one piece. Suddenly there was a loud BANG from a rifle shot.and the man next to the tribesman Gers was extending his hand to fell down to the ground. Gers furiously looked at the guide, but he had his gun down. Before anything else could happen, two more shots were fired and another of the Sugna fell down. Gers first thought was who the hell was responsible for this, quickly followed by how the heck he was going to get out of this alive. He turned around and saw what he thought was the rest of the 'delegation' come out of the bushes. Suddenly he felt a great pain in the right part of his lower back. It burned with the hot of the sun and the pain that suddenly was in his side was too much too bear. Screaming Gers fell down. In his fall he saw the point of a spear sticking out front to the left of his stumach.

Falling to the ground he closed his eyes, praying to God to have mercy on his soul. He saw the mayhem that is close combat as he felt several Sugna warriors go down by gunshots, but also several guides. He thought he saw Mr Foster run away. Gers was happy for him, he was a good man and he hoped the man would escape with his life. Then everything in Gers' head went black.

    =/\= Later =/\=

Gers woke up. He was very surprised where he was. He was even more surprised he still WAS. He grabbed his side and looked at his hand when he retracted it. It was dark red. Gers head felt dizzy as he probably had lost a lot of blood. He looked up. It was darker then when he was meeting the Sugna. He was lying in the middle of a pile of bodies, both Sugna and guides. They had probably thought he was dead. But Gers was stronger. He had to try to stand up and warn the expedition. It was still very vague what had exactly happened but one thing was sure. One of the guides had fired the first shot. Why was still an enigma to Gers. Trying to stand up, Gers fell down again. He coughed hard and the whole cough was mixed with blood. His side still burned, but the spear was gone. Probably taken out by the Sugna warrior who had put it there. Crawling away from the pile of bodies Gers reached the end of the clearing. His head was spinning when he reached the first tree. If his energy was depleted already he knew he never would make it to the Archer Institute camp. Gers ignored the fact he had totally no idea where the camp was. He hadn't payed much attention to the route they had taken.

Bumped againts the tree, Gers took his pack. He was lucky it was till there, although there was a big hole in the side, covered with blood.THe spear had gone right through. Gers took his drinking bag out of it and some dried fruits. He could only eat some of it but the water tasted wonderfull. Gers sat trying to get some coherent thoughts There weren;t many of them. He was very worried about the Archer camp. The Sugna probably wanted some revenge. Sighing Gers grabbed his side. The wound was closing but he suspected it would be infected pretty soon. He needed medical attention pretty soon. He wouldn't get any if he stayed here against the tree, but walking would cost himself a lot of energy. But he had no other choice. He hefted himself up with the tree and leaned against it. Leaning against the tree he had to decide what directing to go. There wasn't anything familiar about his surrounding so he choose a random direction. Leaning against trees and holding branches, Gers tried to make his way to what he hoped to be the way back to the camp.
