Too cold for bare feet
I finally had to begin wearing socks. And when I begin to wear socks, it's no laughing matter--I have my smartwool socks on! Well, I guess that my dream of never wearing a jacket again is fruitless. But, it is nowhere near as cold in Texas as it was in New York. And no snow. For that, I am thankful.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.....what am I thankful for? That I am with J--I'm glad to have found him. My health. My animals. That Tumbles isn't dead, even though by all means he should be. That I am in an amazing institute, doing the work I want to be doing, and I have a bright and prosperous career ahead of me. For the few friends that I have. For clean socks! I'm thankful that America is safe, that I am not afraid to walk alone at night (well, I'm a little afraid, but I do live in a bad neighborhood), that no one is dropping bombs on us. I'm thankful for all that I have experienced, and all that is stsill out there waiting for me to experience it. I'm thankful for quiet nights with a book and a puppy foot warmer. And I'm thankful for so much more, but you get the picture.
I did run today (with the dog even--he forgot how much he hates running on a leash). And rode my bike. Because the average Thanksgiving dinner has 130 grams of fat. My advisor says that it makes no difference, but I believe it does. So, if you live in Houston, and you see a lone girl out running at around 8 a.m.--that's me. And I'll definitely be running on Friday!!
