Continuation of first story… Both boys remained on the bed, gaping at their intruder. Ron silently scolded himself: what good was a lock in a place full of wizards? Blushing like mad, Hermionie slammed the door and made a mad dash for the library. Ron lay back against the pillows, repeatedly saying, “Shit…shit…” “Ron...I…she seemed ok with it…” Harry trailed of helplessly. Ron was shaking his head, tears forming at the corners of his eyes. He pulled his shirt on and found his robes. “Just go.” “But Ron I…alright…” Harry grabbed his Firebolt and headed outside to clear his mind. He went down the stairs, out the door, and across the lawns before an articulate thought worked its way through the mutterings of four letter words, and came to him. How could he have done that? He knew full well that he shouldn’t be like that with Ron, but it was so hard seeing them around together, holding hands, whispering. Hard, yes, in more ways than one. He wasn’t in the mood to ride around on the broom, so he settled down on the edge of the forest, head in his hands. “Harry.” He looked up, and Ron stood there, composed now. Harry, still aching for him, looked back towards the ground. “Want to talk to you.” Ron said, lowering himself to the ground beside Harry. “ I think I know that you weren’t just teaching me how to..uh..kiss and stuff.” Harry nodded miserably. For three years he’d fancied Ron..since the day he stepped off the Hogwarts Express the first time he knew. Being Ron’s best friend was probably worse for Harry than not knowing him at all; always being around him but knowing he could never be more than his friend, and spending that month at The Burrow before second year started had been torture. Seeing Ron slip off his robes at night and getting a glimpse of that taut slim body underneath was agony. “I’d rather let Fluffy get me,” Harry mumbled. “Might hurt less…” “Come again?” “Sorry. Just thinking. Listen Ron, I simply got carried away with the um..lessons..that’s why I did that to you..the kissing was ok, but you said she liked that and you asked me to give you more….” “Harry. You weren’t carried away. And when I asked you to show me…well, I thought that’s how I’d learn, I mean, me and ‘Mionie had only ever held hands, till you showed me the Muggle-kissing so I tried it… figured since she liked that, you could…but…I thought you’d stop when it was enough...too far…And I think that might’ve been too far.” Then, out of nowhere, “You fancy me, don’t you?” Shaking his head violently, Harry lied, not very well though. Thinking that nothing with Ron would ever be enough, or too far. It was Harry’s eyes that were swimming now, and Ron seemed to be confused. If this were Hermionie, now would be a good time for Ron to hug her, like when she only got an A- in Potions, or when Malfoy called her a Mudblood. But with Harry…this wasn’t a thank-you hug like earlier, or a ‘you won the Quidditch Cup hug’….Ron wondered if he should… The scarred face crumpled and tears spilled. Ron moved closer and did embrace him. “I’m sorry Ron…But…I tried not to…but I love you I really truly do. Sorry.” “Harry…I love Hermionie….but… the thing is…well, I don’t think I was supposed to, but I enjoyed it…with you…” “Honestly!” A bossy voice was heard, bossy and good-natured, all at once. “Since when do either of you ever do what you’re supposed to anyways?” Hermionie , having located them, smiled and sat down on the other side of Harry. “Hermionie!” Both boys sounded astonished that after what she had seen, she would talk to them, let alone seek them out. Harry spoke first “You aren’t…m..mad are you?” “No.” she answered simply, taking Harry’s hand. “You two have corrupted me in everything else—I talked back to that Divination teacher, I slapped Malfoy, hard too! You might as well corrupt me the rest of the way!” She joked, but truly did feel ok about it. She just wanted her friends to be happy, and if Harry could make Ron happy, which Ron confirmed he did, and Harry was obviously enthralled with Ron, as the whole school had noticed, she really didn’t see a problem. She always thought Harry was charming to begin with! “At least now I know where you learned to kiss like that…and from what I saw, you know a bit more too?” Ron blushed, knowing that he had planned to employ his new techniques later. “Well” she continued, “If you liked that, just wait till I show you what Lavender taught me the other day!” Hermionie of course was flustered by the whole situation, but there was no reason to pretend Harry and Ron were the only ones. “Lavender?” Ron asked. “You guys were…” Harry followed. The boys turned to one another. “Brilliant!” they both exclaimed. Post a comment in response: |
