我也要說,歐洲國家盃較世界盃的確好看得多。

世界盃嘛,不客氣地說句,就只是多了巴西和阿根廷兩隊傳統勁旅及一大班不入流的三四線國家隊。賽事幾乎沒什麼懸念可言,分組賽無經無險出線的又是那堆熟口熟面的球隊。德國世界盃,能讓人難以忘懷的賽事可有多少?若非EQ極低的施丹突然思覺失調,那場決賽根本無talking point可言。五十年後的人憶起這屆世界盃,想怕只會記得這下施丹式頭搥。

有得貨比貨之下,便不難發覺歐洲盃遠比世界盃有趣和可堪回味得多。歐洲盃的賽場,真係咩野都可以發生。丹麥臨時拉扶都可以奪冠;德國靠第一次也是最後一次銀球氣走捷克;八年前托度一場竟然救出五球十二碼,幾日後韋托特最後一秒入波追平;四年前奇蹟再現,希臘神話跟丹麥童話一樣難以致信...今屆單看土耳其三次臨完場發揮小宇宙,還有荷蘭大勝一對冤家,但最後竟然被俄羅斯凌辱,這些片段,恐怕也會化為經典。既然奇蹟一而再發生,如果大膽預測俄羅斯復仇成功,土耳其以龍門串演前鋒都贏德國又有何出奇?!正因為歐洲盃容許奇蹟及爆冷的賽果,而不像世界盃一樣被幾大豪強瓜分,實力越來越懸殊,所以歐洲盃顯得額外珍貴。

If you can find any similarities between this Turkey side and the Greece of Euro 2004, I really really do not know what to call you...the Greeks in 2004 bored everybody to death, Turks are the biggest entertainers of this tournament giving everybody a heart attack...
