Dude, like...WOAHHH!!
That was a fun holiday.
Birmingham to Newark, NY was such a boring flight. 6 hours of sitting on my arse eating crap food and watchong shite films. Ah well, no terrorists. Yay.
New York totally kicked ass...we went to *deep breath*...Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, Macy's, The-Biggest-Toy's-R-Us-In-The-World (not that amazing), some weird places that I can't remember... Our apartment in Radio City was well nice. Got a bit sick of people not speaking English (i.e. in restaurants, etc and bloody gimps on the streets selling the same stuff: photos of skylines, etc...tsh..). Bloody cab drivers everywhere. Even when the crossing says it's ok for pedestrians to walk, they still drive right across the crossway. Twats. None of them speak English anyway, and their driving is shit. Saw the MTV studios and ground zero. Mum got upset. I didn't. Apparently that means I'm insensitive. Really. New York is a lot like London in a way, what with all the immigrants, etc, but with less pigeons.
Washington is very different to NY because it's less busy, and slightly less interesting. Visited the Lincoln Memorial (scary as hell), Vietnam Memorial (boring as hell), The Washington Memorial (closed as hell) and saw the White House. Went to the Spy Museum...according to their little test things, I have the capabilities to be a spy. Badass.
After Washington, we flew to Boston and picked up the hire car. We were meant to be having a Mitsubishi Glant, but we got a Chrysler Concorde instead. It was quite nice, but in the week that we had it, we had to refuel about 3 times because it guzzled the petrol like it was going out of fashion. Enjoyed Mum's laughable attempts at driving in the car (it was an automatic and she had to drive on the other side of the road), but didn't enjoy it when she kept missing the turns because it pissed dad off and pretty much everyone else as well. *Sigh*. I don't really remember what we did in Boston, actually.
Wakefield was pleasant.
Northampton was very cool, even though there was a lot of butch-looking lesbians everywhere, but Bart's ice cream shop...ohhh...nice....*drools*...
On to the next place, (can't remember the name), it was up in a mountainy part somewhere. Dad got pissed off with everyone and cancelled our booking at this hotel in a place like Center Parcs because Will and I got in a mardy with dad because the place we were staying in was shit. So we drived round to the place we would have been staying at the following night, and stayed and extra night there, in the really cool North Conway :D
...And the final stop of the holiday, North Conway! New Hampshire totally rocks because you don't get sales tax on ANYTHING and all the shops are like factory outlets, so it's like "top quality stuff and cheap prices"...mum and dad went mad in L L Bean and Timberland...needless to say dear old townie bro had a ball in the Nike shop....*sigh*... There was a well cool shop called Pac-Sun that sold all the really ace skating stuff and I got a couple of things from there. They had Dc's for $50!!!!! We get totally ripped off in England, whether it's a factory shop or not, we get proper ripped off. ¬_¬ Saw the new Terminator 3 movie. Twas okish. Also saw Johnny English. Twas ghay.
After 3 days there, we got the plane back home, eating more crappy food, watching more crappy films and mainly sleeping. Arrived back jet lagged and knackered. Slept for about a day in total. Oh yes.
Soooo....I bought:
4 CDs (Thrice, The Used, Thrice again and Rufio) Various Jackass merch from the MTV Store in NY (keyring, mug, 2 badges) Weird sweets An Atticus shirt Dickies shorts (if I hear any comments about the 4th member of Blink-182, I will kill you...) A plug Spongebob Squarepants shirt *giggle*
....umm I think that's it.
Yes.
My fingers hurt. :(
