Happy Birthday to me!
I forgot how much I LOVE the Velvet Goldmine movie/soundtrack. I rediscovered it last night when I was going through my cd's to find Phantom of the Opera to put on my MP3 player. So I put them both on. MMMM. I was talking to Amy last night, and she finally watched Chicago and loved it, so then we were talking about going to see Phantom: THE MOVIE. She had not wanted to see Chicago: THE MOVIE due to the fact that she had seen the stage version in Chicago and London, and didn't think the movie would live up to it. I, for the same reason, am hesitant about seeing Phantom (except I only saw it in Chicago, not London). But she loved Chicago: THE MOVIE, so I will go see Phantom: THE MOVIE. The only thing I don't like about when they make musicals into movies nowadays is that they seem to add a new song into the mix. They did it for Evita, and I think the new one was cut from Chicago, and there is a new one for Phantom. Why mess with it? Yes, the songs are sometimes good, but that's not the point.
Anyway, Velvet Goldmine. Good. Very Good...::sigh::...why did I have to miss out on the whole glam-rock thing? AND the best part of that movie (other than Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Ewan McGregor naked in bed together, and a Christian Bale j/o scene) is that PLACEBO is in the movie, with Brian Molko looking SO HOT!!! And, Toni Collette is in it too, which is a nice added bonus.

Ah yes. Lovely.
