    Final final
Today, this morning, an hour and a half from now, I have my last final for this semester. I desperately need this to be over. I don't know whether or not I should be nervous about this exam. I don't really care what I get on it anyway, so I guess I have no reason to be nervous. I'll just go in and do my best...that's all anyone can ever do anyway.

Today is bitingly cold. It's 5 degrees right now, with a windchill of -15 degrees. Cold. But, I don't mind it all that much. So many people complain about cold weather, but you could just as easily complain about hot weather. There's something about the cold crisp air of winter that feeds my soul. There's an unique beauty about winter too. There's the obvious beauty of freshly fallen snow hanging on tree limbs, or the leafless tendrils of the trees that stretch towards the gray sky. But there's also less common beauty that you don't always realize, or only rarely are able to experience. Like today, for instance. The air is so cold, but the waters of Lake Michigan are still warm, and the steam that rises from the lake is just indescribable. It' so surreal, and it reminds me of a post-impressionist painting, one that I get to live in. I like winter. I need it. It regenerates my livelihood.
