whew, long weekend--just catching up now.
I had so much fun at the concert. I think it was the best one of GC i've been too. They seemed to have worked pretty hard to make the tour awesome, and it was!
I got up at like 8:30 and got ready to catch the bus at 11:07. I took the bus to the train station, took the train to 30th street station, took another train to overbrook, met Jamie. We left at 4:15 to get to the venue by 5:30. While waiting for the bus--we stopped traffic. HAHAHAHAHA. We're waiting and this older man in a mercedes pulls up behind a lin of cars waiting for the light. He is like drooling out the window, staring like it's his job. I try to be nice and smile but he wont look away. So i turn to Jamie and I'm like what the hell is this guy looking at??? She's like omg, the cars moved and he's still sitting in his car staring. it was too funny. So then we took the bus to the subway, then took another subway and then we came out across the street from wachovia center(arena whatever)...THERE WAS A LINE. Not just any line. a line full of mothers, fathers, teenies, 9 year olds, older people, goths, eyeliner wearing boys and girls, halter top wearing chicks, chicks dressed like a "punk" Britney a la Hit me Baby one more time. There was a mom with the ULTIMATE mullet. It was like to her ass. it was amazing. did i mention it was so cold? so at about 6:15 ish, we were let in. i got harrassed by security b.c my phone was in my pocket and i guess it looked suspicious. right.
OMG. we get into the pit area and they tell us to sit down. and if you got up, you were told to sit down. Jamie and I named some security dudes to amuse ourselves. There was Silky, the ladies man in the silk shirt, and there was Johan Mexico, the mean mexican man. There was also Dennis, but that was his real name. While we waited they played the same 6 songs over, the fucking Donnas, The Used, Blink 182, MxPx(i think, thats according to jamie), and Green Day. i guess some others, i didnt recognize them. I am going to break the concert down now, so if this bores you, turn back now.
Mest-first out, Nick's drumset had smoke pot on it. cute. Tony had his hair in a mohawk, and he looked really good. He was running around on stage and even came out in the crowd a little. Chris was sitting on the side of the stage, quietly singing along, he's cuter in person. I lost Jamie of course and i was already gross and sweaty. They played songs like, Jaded(of course....and benji did come out and sing), rooftops, fuct up kid, some songs off the new album, drawing board(he changed the words to Kill You too, instead of sing to you) and the last song they played was cadillac. It was really cool, b.c Chris played the guitar for tony so he could jump around and come into the crowd. i saw his girlfriend, im pretty sure. At first i thought it was the half blond, half brunette typical rockstar girlfriend look alike but i think it was the brunette in jeans. the brunette was prettier than the wierd hair girl. not really important, though. They did really great. ::sigh::
Goldfinger-HAHAHA. First thing you see is Darren come out in his pink g-string. he stands on his drumset and freakin shakes his ass. It was fucking funny. then all the guys came out. They got a new member....i had no idea Charlie, the bald guy who hugged me, wasnt in the band anymore. I was sad. They played for a pretty long time, and they played: Miles Away, Here in your bedroom, Jamie's fave; Superman, I think they played It's your life, Spokesman, a couple others, and they ended with 99 red balloons, which was the other song i wanted them to play. they did not play mabel. :( it was great though. Nick, Tony, and Billy stood on the sides of the stage and Billy's girlfriend is quite pretty.
Good Charlotte- well it took them forever to set up thier stage and i had to be smushed between a dad and various other people. bah. but when they came out they started with A New Beginning and Joel came out last. They sang lots of old songs, and of course the newer stuff. I cant remember the order of any of the bands songs, but here is a list: The click, Little Things, Festival Song, Philadelphia Worldwide(waldorf), Walk by, Bloddy Valentine, Hold On, The Anthem, Wondering(dedicated to Cash), Riot Girl, Girls and Boys, The Day that I Die, a beautiful acoustic performance of Emotionless...seriously, the whole damn place was singing along and benji and joel barely sang at all...and they had the crowd sing "its been a long, hard road...." and so on....and joel closed his eyes and just looked like he got lost in everyone singing. it was cute. They sang The Young and the Hopeless and Tony came out and was singing along...There was a girl there and she had Benji and Joel's faces tattooed on her back. I saw her from far away and she got up on some dudes shoulder and showed benji her tatt's and he looked at her and he looked really freaked out, so she wouldnt get down, until the song ended and he was like wow this place is crazy and that girl has my face tattoo'd on her back. He didnt seem to think it was that cool. I didnt either, why would you ever ever do that??? i dunno. I got stuck behind her later towards the end of the concert and i saw the tat's up close and benji looked okay but joel's face looked like a pig. not so great looking. she also had a playboy bunny and "playmate of the year" on her shoulder. so um yeah. anyway, i think they closed with Lifestyles.....
sooo, i also got hit in the nose with a leg, some 12 year old kept tapping my shoulder and asking if i could let her go past me, i almost smushed a girl with a louis vuitton purse, like 15 people almost got thier eyes taken out by a girl with killer heels crowd surfing, lost Jamie like a billion times, stared at some teenies yelling penis really loud over and over and then they yelled holler at me, talked to some girls who were trying to act like they werent there to look at benji, almost sat in mayonaise, almost caught Benji's pick, got splashed with joel's backwash water 3 times--but no bottle, almost got taken out by 3 guys and 2 girls fighting over Benji's sweatrag that happened to fall right behind me....they ended up ripping it into tiny pieces and "sharing it", found someones camera and contemplated stealing it for pictures, but didnt want to pay for shitty pictures of the band and 12 year olds on vacation, stepped in fruit punch, saw a mom yell at these guys for MOSHING in the MOSH pit...the kid looked scared haha, listened to a dad retell stories about when he was a punk show in the early 80's with the Dead Milkmen and Dead Kennedy's and found myself a little jealous, ate about a million and one girls hair, somehow ended up with sparkles all over my body, got sweaty and probably looked really ugly, caught joels eye a couple times(maybe, i like to think so hahahahhaa), got cottonmouth from lack of water, danced a square-dance with this girl, listened to some short fat 12 year old tell the 80's dad about how she just saw The Starting Line and is seeing Brand New and Taking Back Sunday while I made a mental note to beat her up if i see her at Brand New b.c she wouldnt stop talking and she annoyed me, talked to Jamie about the I love the 80's marathon things and about how much she loves Hal Sparks and I love Micheal Ian Black, laughed about how we wanted to have Billy Martins greasy hamster babies, laughed at the mullet lady when we saw her again, and so much more. It really was a fucking awesome concert and I can't wait for Mest to come back in February like they said they are going to....PLUS its only 5 days until Brand New!!!! wooooo hooooo!!!
I am so done with this subject now....*thanks for listening :)*
