First day of the rest of our lives i miss you already.
Last time i see that look in your eyes i miss you already.
Finally, i will write about the Senses Fail show. It was almost 3 weeks ago, but that's okay.
Emily's mom picked us up around 2:30 and we went to our houses and got ready. We got to the venue at about 3:15 and it looked like there was no one there. it looked like the workers for the venue werent there yet. me and emily walked around to find a store that sold film cause we only had 1 roll. we found a plaid pantry and bought the film there. then we walked back to the venue and still no one was there. it was really cold. we were standing for a little bit but eventually sat down. at maybe 4 or so emily said that she had seen a van with a trailer behind it but i was looking down at the time and didnt see it. a few minutes later another van drove past us and turned left down the side street. we knew it was a band but we thought that they would unload their crap in the back so we were kinda bummed. then 3 other vans drove down that same street, one that was black and we thought that it was senses fail's. we saw band members go into the venue but no one from senses fail. a couple walked out to smoke. then the black van pulled out of the side street and stopped to talk to one of the dudes standing outside. and i freaked out cause i realized that it was dave in the van talking to the guy. then the van turned right and stopped right in front of the venue and in front of me and emily. emily freaked out when she saw sean the guitar tech step ot of the van. the rest of the band came out too. it was awesome. they unloaded their trailer with their people. me and emily didnt bother them. so they probably thought that we were dumbasses and didnt know they were the band. i caught eyes with mike a bunch. and garrett and dave a little too. buddy went over and ate at the deli. it was awesome cause no one else was there so as emily said we were the only ones that saw senses fail do manual labor.
After that, band members would walk in and out every once in a while. and i would freak out every time dave came out cause well.. he's a sexy beast. since we were sitting on the ground, i began to recognize people by their asses. there was a really hot guy that came out a lot. dave came out a lot to smoke. emily called him a chain smoker. one of the times he stood a little to the left of the door and when he was done with his cigarette he tossed it so it was right in front of the door and went inside. i nudged emily and told her i was gonna grab it. she laughed, thinking i wasnt serious. but i leaned over and got it. if people saw me they'd probably think i was crazy. but how many people can say they have a cigarette butt of dave's? the venue had stairs that went into the basement and i leaned over and was watching dave walk up them and he caught eyes with me so i freaked out and sat back up (i freak out a lot as you can tell. lol). i know that emily loves sean so every time he walked by i would pretend to be her and reach out to him saying "i love you sean....". there was a nice guy who every once in a while would walk out and he'd say something to us. he tripped over me once.
When they opened the doors me and emily were the first ones in. the nice guy said "first in line, first inside" to us. we were right in front in the middle of the stage. a kid from my class was there and emily envied him cause he got to see a static lullaby the night before and she couldnt. he said that he was where we were the night before and it sucked cause you get crotch-in-face. we were talking about how cool it would be with senses fail right in front of us. but well.. that didnt happen. cause everyone smashes you when you're in the front. it sucks. but before the show had started sean was up on the stage walking around and emily told me that it'd be cool if she could shake his hand. so i called his name and he kneeled down to talk to us. emily said that she was sorry about what happened at one of their other shows a few nights before. he said "shit happens". seans the best.
Boys Night Out played first. and the hot guy from outside ended up being their drummer. so that was really awesome. they were good. i watched the hot guy most of the time. and there was major crotch-in-facewe got smashed a little but not too bad.
A beautiful mistake played next. they were a good band but it sucked being in the front. because the stage is so low that you'd have to lean over it when everyone pushed you. some crazy fan moved emily out of of her spot and took her place. i planted my feet for the first couple of songs before i realized that it wasnt a very good idea and it felt like my knees were going to pop backwards. it wasnt too fun. and the muscles in my legs were getting squished. i tried to back away from the stage and let someone else be in the front between songs. but i couldnt move and the next song started playing. so i had to stay. it was a fucking long song too. i was leaning over the stage for most of that song. then after that i moved back. and emily was having an anxiety attack so we went back towards the merch. and watched the rest of the set from there.
For moneen me and emily moved to the right of the crowd close to the wall and as close as we could get. they were good. emily knew a song and i had heard her play it a couple of times.
Before senses fail played, the band had to walk through the crowd and mike was nice about it putting his hand on your shoulder to let you know hes there then walking by but dave shoved right past the people and he went right to the left of me. it was awesome. thay played a fucking awesome show. bloody romance and 187 as their last songs. they played a couple of new songs. buried a lie, bite to break skin, one about a pirate and another one i didnt know. freefall without a parachute which is such an awesome song. i was watching sean the whole time cause he was sitting on the side of the stage on one of the amps. he knew i was watching him and would look over at me every once in a while. it was funny cause i'd usually be staring at him and he'd look over and i'd look away. but one of the times i looked over at him and he was watching me and he looked away when i catch eyes with him. it was funny. sean has the coolest hair ever. the way he messed it up in the back. i love that man.
After the show me and emily walked over to dan and dave and got our pictures taken with them. i look so damn happy in the picture with dave. biggest smirk. looks like i think im the coolest person ever. but holy shit. dave's arm was around me. me an emily stood there for a while cause neither of them had a pen so they were passing mine back and forth signing stuff for other kids. thats my awesome pen. rufio faught over it at warped tour. then we met sean nelson. it was an honor. and the rest of senses fail. the singer of moneen. and the hot dude from Boys Night Out and for his picture he put his arm around me and did a thumbs up and when he saw that i wasnt doing it too he looked over at me and i did it too. that's an awesome picture. but you can see the braces. garrett was scary as hell. a couple of girls borrowed my pen to have him sign something and they turned around and were talking after getting their stuff signed and he still had the pen so he was trying to get their attention to give it back. and i tried to reach out and get it from him but he didnt know it was mine so he mustve thought that i was some loser kid trying to steal someone's pen so he jerked it away from me. an angry jerk. and it scared the shit out of me. and in the drive-thru dvd when he kicked the door down.. garrett is scary, and you know it..
Then we went outside, called emilys brother and got picked up. he was going to go to the show but he hadnt tried to buy the ticket until like the night before and by then they were sold out so he couldnt go. but he was in a rush and didnt want to get their autographs.
That's it.. it took me 2 1/2 fucking weeks to write that, how lame am i?
Well, tomorrow i will for sure write the billy talent, mxpx, sugarcult, and simple plan one. i'll end up finishing it at home but i will do it damnit..
