FML update
so, esurance did cover us for awhile (the last 2-ish weeks), and darren discovered that the claim is still technically active, but they're going to cancel it for the reason i explained. however, we do in fact have proof that the car was insured the day of the citation. holla!

now we just need to get our money back from esurance and find someone else to give it to instead.
