Nothing to say really. Things kind of dying down here, didn't drink any coffee today so I'm beat (and it's only 10 PM), but I haven't been going to sleep until like 1 or 2 AM, so it's good. I bought "Black Christmas" today, which is a great movie. It's basically the very first horror/mystery movie where you see a view from the killer's eyes, but never actually see the killer. Later made famous by "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th", this set the groundwork for a lot of horror movies. It was pretty creepy, and that's something I don't just give out to any old horror movie. I'm tempted to by "The Ring" too, but I don't know which version. I've seen both, the Japanese a long time ago, and then the American when it came out in theaters. The American one had better visuals, but the Japanese had a lot more detail in the plot. Why do I love horror movies? I have no idea. I guess it's the mystery and thrill, and a little bloodlust. It's just something a whole lot of people aren't into, so I picked up on it. I was always intrigued by the covers as a kid, as my mom paid for rentals, I'd stare at them, imagining the nightmares it'd give me. One in perticular was the "Friday the 13th" series, I hated that mask. I didn't watch any horror movies until I saw the "Night of the Living Dead" 1990 remake on tv on halloween. It scared me pretty bad, and from then on I was hooked. Slowly but surely we started to rent out anything at Blockbuster that looked good. Then I just started buying them, and thankfully the internet started to become as big as it has and I had a resource to learn about what to get and what to stay away from. I started checking out comic book conventions, because I heard there were a lot of bootleg videos there. Yeah, a lot of bootlegs of the same old, tired stupid movies. "Faces of Death" and all that junk. Only recently am I getting interested in movies from Europe and Japan, because they're completely uncomprimised and usually amazing works of art. Yes, I consider horror movies works of art :) Thanks to Amazon and Ebay, I've got no problem getting anything sent right to my doorstep. Wow, what an unessecary sidetrack. Actually, I'm feeling a little more awake and think I'm going to work on my story a bit more. Maybe I'll share some here soon. Just little excerpts. 'Night. Post a comment in response: |
