'I was going to get you some pretty earrings or something but I was in the chocolate store and turned around and saw this. I was like "awww.. come to mummy!"'

I think it was a compliment but my friend Anna from work said she thought of me the second she spotted this chocolate gorilla staring at her at Darrell Lea. I loved it. I still love it, even though I've eaten off the eyes and most of the head. It's so cute I hugged it and thankfully it's winter so it didn't melt.



This birthday has been epic and exhausting! I think I overdo it every year. There was no big party just a lot of little ones, stretching out over 8 days, with a few other promises of birthday treats to come. It's incredible. For a newly 24 year old I ate a lot of silly food. On my actual birthday I ate macaroni and cheese (albeit the gourmet kind from cafe sopra..), cupcakes and specially prepared cheeseburgers at night, my mum is so accomodating.



It was back to work the very next day, only to be given more presents and hugs and being picked up by a boy with birthday comedown flowers on the ready. Yellow tulips are my favourite. And the next night, as my highschool girlfriends piled into a tiny car, ready to head out to our favourite beachside Italian cafe, more flowers and tiny baby cupcakes.

Everyone is so nice.
