This morning I was awaken by a call from Travis who had just gotten back from New Brunswick, where he spent his holidays, he came by, and we decided to go to the Church St. pawn shops to buy a N64 so he could get a part he needed for his.

It was great seeing the guy again. A reminder that school is soon again though. The pawn stores didn't work out. They were all full of power tools and old cameras, staffed by grumpy old Russian men playing backgammon. After that we started walking to the Goodwill store because it was in the neighborhood. On the way we came across the Indonesian Consulate, which was located next to a Petro Can. I sure hope our Consulates in backwater countries aren't located next to gas stations or McDonalds or anything like that. Despite the less than prestigious location it did have a pretty statue in the courtyard and I took a picture

Later in the day I picked up Kate and we went off to check out Kensington Market for my and her first time ever. It was definitely an interesting, and intimidating place, and neither of us were really looking to buy anything. Now that we know what to expect, I'm eager to go back. Although it doubtful as to when the weather will be as nice again as it was today. Also on the way from the subway we walked through Chinatown, which is always a nice stroll, although I'm starting to get upset about the rudeness of the people towards me while I'm there.

After that we walked across the U of T campus to the ROM, and I was disappointed to find out that the Art Deco exhibit wasn't part of the general free Friday evening admission. We still had an interesting time although we swept through the place in about an hour. There were some nice art deco pieces in the modern collection on the top floor. The batteries for my camera I had borrowed from Kate were running out of charge by then, and my set of rechargables had died earlier in the day. If I had a good set of batteries I would have taken a lot more pictures.

After the ROM we went to my place, watched a DVD then met back up with Mel and Shawn. I got food with the girls in Scarborough and ate at Kate's house. I ended up staying there watching Muchmusic with Kate all snuggled up until 1 AM. Then I ran down to Lawrence because I could see the bus coming. Bus to RT to Subway, Ossington bus and home fairly standardly.

This was another great day, one I can look back on while writing this and realise, that I'm one of the lucky ones, I live in city where so much is at my fingertips if I just reach out and grab. I always havein my head divided people into two categories, the curious and the un-curious. Toronto is a great place for the curious, but full of the un-curious, people who never look up and smile when they see the CN tower poking out from behind a building or can't help but walk down Yonge street head looking upwards in all directions trying to take in all the signs.

I was once told that if you just keep looking at the trees, you'll never see the forest, and that's Toronto, if you just look at it, it's cold and grey, buildings, semi-detached brick houses, taxi's, ugly buses, and pizza pizzas. But if you take a step back inside your head, and look around and see the city, that's when the magic happens.
