    PAT & Life
God, it's been a while. James, this one's for you *I do try*. I swear I'm going to try and blurty at least once a week from now on. This momentous occasion - the induction of PAT into my private family. PAT is my new laptop, named for St. Patrick's day. He came in the mail today (funny story behind that). So, nobody at my house answers either the phone or the door at my house like normal people. We either wait for people to start leaving messages on the answering machine (we NEVER pick up the phone beforehand) and we generally stare out of the side windows of the house to wait for people to leave the door (if they're selling something, or dare-I-be-so-discriminatory... Mormons). But, we make exceptions for the kids next door that kicked over their soccer ball just twenty seconds ago (the one my monster shepherd-lab mix has already seen, targeted, and popped in about .2 seconds...) or for the post man. My mom especially seems to have this anathema about opening the door. Wierd. But anyway, the point was, PAT was sitting in this big brown box that I had to sign for. The bell rang twice. The postman started to leave, I saw PAT leaving down my yard, ran out of my room, wasted precious seconds fumbling with the latch to the baby gate, ran through the foyer only to fall on my butt on a wet spot (on stone may I say - owee) then continued out the front door, yelling frantically for him to stop while he probably thought I was deramged. BUT, I got PAT. :)

So, anyway, I'm lovin' it. PAT is so upgraded it's cool, and I can finally burn DVDs (yeah). But the best is having my own personal, portable computer that no one else can touch and mess up on pain of death. Finally.

School.... Well, I'm taking quite a few anthropology (my second major) courses this semester - the worst being theory class, the best human osteology with real human bones. Awesome. Gruesome if you think about it too much, but absolutely awesome. Physics still sucks (God help me), but I'm muddling through okay. Mmm...what else to say...we were slammed at work tonight and I didn't get out til 11:30ish so that's why I'm writing this now of all times. Ah...I started taking horseback riding lessons for the first time in my life which makes me absolutely ecstatic. Probably about the way James feels when he plays music or Beth when something just clicks into place that she's been working on forever, or when she writes. Definitely like how Sarah feels when she's dancing or how Gail feels when she's out in the middle of a foreign country with new people and things all around her. Absolutely wonderful. Mmm...I think I've said enough there. OH! *Guys tune this out* I bought this really cute girly purse. It's black with light pink flower embroidery and 'stitching'. So cute.

Anyway, I've run out of stuff to ramble about, so, that's it for now. I really do promise to keep more in touch though.
