Drum Corps Associates held its first Championship in 1965. Today, the organization hosts nearly two dozen shows across the United States throughout the summer, culminating in the World Championship. This year’s event is expected to attract 13-thousand performers and fans to Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and contribute $10-million to the local economy. The AAACCVB is a nonprofit, membership-based, destination marketing organization that generates revenues for the local economy by promoting Annapolis and Anne Arundel County to leisure and business travelers across the country and around the world. As it gears up for hosting Drum Corps Associates’ 48th Annual World Championship Competitions at Navy Marine Corps Stadium on Labor Day Weekend 2012, the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) is on the lookout for existing or former area residents who at one time participated in drum corps competitions.
