    the passion of the christ...
that is the most amazing movie i have ever seen. controversial?? of course. good?? yes. i felt it correctly portrayed what i have been taught about the passion and suffering of christ. if you are squeamish...DO NOT GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! it is more graphic than any movie i've ever seen. if you ever cover your eyes during a movie you wont want to uncover them for this movie. ive watched "jesus of nazareth," which is the story of the life of jesus, as well as the passion. altho a very good movie, it lacks the reality and feeling that mel gibson's movie portrays. jesus' flesh hangs by a thread. his ribs and elbow bones are exposed. but this is not a "slasher" movie with a emphasis on the blood and gore. it is a movie, as mel gibson says, about tolerance and of giving of oneself for the welfare and salvation of others. it is a movie about suffering for those you love, and especially those that you do not. the graphic and gruesome nature of the movie is only necessary to show the true suffering of christ. i, myself, felt the frustration, the helplessness, the sadness of jesus. but, as you knew that he was feeling all these things, there was an understanding that he felt hopeful and loved through all the pain. this movie is a must see!! --- the devil and pontious pilate will amaze you.
