    the ten commandments
ok. heard an interesting story on NPR on the drive hope (lately i've been addicted to it). the story was about a judge in Tennessee, i think, who was catching flak for embroidering the ten commandments onto his judges robe. His thought on the matter stemmed from something like, "The ten commandments are my link between the law and the truth." now, i got to thinking in the traffic riding home that a true Christian must have an awful time being a judge. Because as far as I can tell christians are not supposed to pass judgment on others but let god do so. I tried to consort my "God Books," as i call them, but seem to have misplaced several. the only one i found had this to say about justice: "Don't say, 'I will get even for this wrong.' Wait for the LORD to handle the matter." (Proverbs 20:22) so, for the sake of all theological discussion, isn't a christian judge and oxymoron...

second religious though for the day: exhausted last night after a plane trip and subsequent drive home i lay in bed thinking about the WWJD bracelet things. I know they're supposed to guide you in times of a tough decision, but i tried to apply the question to a greater scope. Like, what would Jesus do if he came back. I'm not talking second coming, apocalyptic type stuff, but like what if he just came back and hung out for a little while. what would he do in a church...seriously. would he eat his own body and blood? i thought he'd say, "hey, stop worshiping me. worship my father. be like me."

anyways, sorry for all the theological crap. must be the season. time for a nap.
